To help pay for the new fixtures, the poles willl be brass and used by student pole dancers.  Tips are tax deductible donations to offset the $33K!

I would do one of two things;
1. Only fly the US flag so those meatheads don't complain.
2. If the meatheads complain don't fly any flag and use the money saved every day by putting up and taking down the flags and put it to something constructive like basket weaving.

Don't fly any flag, and remove any and all tax exemptions, subsidies, and loan programs for the whole system.  If these dingbats don't support what got them there, then don't support them!

This represents the problems we are having nationwide in a nutshell.
 Why are we pandering to a small group of people that admittedly want nothing to do with our country or our way of life? Giving in to this kind of behavior only encourages it. Here's an idea, take the flag away from them, slap them upside the head and tell them "STFU and get over it!" Your ancestors made a bad deal for you, sorry but it's the truth. They were corrupt and lazy, and didn't give a shit about anything but maintaining their own status. Your needs came secondary, if at all. That's how it works in a Monarchy. The vast majority of you were serfs, you lived or died, ate or slept at the whim of your "King". If you think they would've put up with this kind of BS, think again. Any uprising would be put down with the death of those involved and probably their combined families for good measure. If you want to practice your "culture", feel free to do so. Fortunately the USA allows you that freedom. The other countries that wanted Hawaii wouldn't have been so kind, they'd have exterminated you.

I am personally saddened by the PC crowd having that much influence over a state where the people of the state were happy with the flag flying where it was. That flag only represents slavery to those who have an agenda. It represents a dark time in our history to those who are knowledgeable about it. Mostly it represents the rebellion of the southern states to secede from the U.S. In order for the PC crowd to not be hypocrites they need to go after the swastika and other icons of mass murder, genocide, etc in the same way and with the same veracity that they did towards the confederate flag. Since they don't, they obviously have an agenda.

There once  developing country where the South, flying the  confederate flag was at war against the North flying the stars and stripes.
To cut the story short, the North won so they got to raise their flag over the country.

I'm not really sure why the South's  flag was still allowed to fly after that war at all. 



   As for Q's post,
Once I was leaving a "Local Hardware" store and saw 2 employee's taking down our flag, stick it  all rumpled up into a shopping cart and wheel it into the store.
I got out of my car, went back into the store and found the rumpled flag in the cart, unattended !

   

I LOUDLY asked to  IMMEDIATELY see the manager !

    Now that I had EVERYBODY'S  attention, the manager quickly came over and I kindly yet LOUDLY asked him WTF his store was doing desecrating the flag that so many had and continue to die for.
The flag that represented his right to have a store and the right of  free people to patronize it etc.,etc.,etc.
Flag folded properly as customers walking out the door looking disgusted and stink eyeing the manager as 2 employees folded our colors properly.

  I had''t been that pissed for awhile nor since then.
