anybody here running HSGI battle belt? do you have the regular suregrip or the slim grip? please share your experience. seem like i cant decide with one to upgrade.
some people uses the regular suregrip said it feel hotter on hot weather but the slim grip are nice low profile but some also have trouble mounting the molle pouches bc of the slimmer profile and pals webbing is too close together. thanks for the info in advance

hsgi slim cause I'm a shorty. Hsgi tacos mount up but aren't super tight cause of the 2 row...meaning you can lift them up from the bottom of the belt . Doesn't really affect the function though and it's nothing  a tie strap won't fix .

I run the standard Suregrip belt and love it. I have been using it for about 2 years and haven't had any issues at all.

It is wide, but is nicely padded and comfortable. Everything mounts to the belt nice and tight and it doesn't move much at all.
As far as extra heat, I don't notice it much. If there is one negative is that I have too much on my belt.

Seems the trend right now is everyone wants to go with minimalist setups and small belts. I don't run the Suregrip everytime I shoot, but it's nice to have and is bulletproof.

PS- if you go with a smaller belt be sure to get the proper mounts for your pouches. I've seen issues with guys running thin belts and wide malice type pouch  straps and their gear flops all over the place.

I have the regular HSGI sure grip belt.   I only used it once at a open shoot.  Did not remember getting hot or uncomfortable.  Don't know about the slim one but the regular size belt supports a IFAK, Esee 3 knife, G19 in a kydex holster, a taco double rifle mag pouch with loaded standard mags, 2 pistol mags in pouches, a dump pouch and multi tool in pouch.   Check out reviews from SKD and Amazon to form a good opinion.  If it's 50-50, wait for labor day sale or SKD sale and get both with a cobra belt.   SKD shipping is USPS priority 3 day for $5.  Sometimes you can get as much as 17% discount at a SKD sale.
I think about using this setup for the proverbial SHTF scenario but for more common every day use, I rely on a Buffalo leather gun belt with Milt Sparks holster for a P239, single mag pouch , flashlight pouch and .357 mag. cartridge holder (holds 12) if I also have to involve my 1894C lever gun.

I used the regular battle belt along with the taco pouches during a 4day rifle course stateside and the belt itself worked out pretty good, sadly the taco pouches weren't as good. The belt itself is  really comfortable and lots of room to attach your pouches to, but also very easy to get carried away with too much stuff (at least for a class setting). Also with the regular belt because it is wider, you actually get a little back support.
