Cats must be different as I am an @sshole and my kitties are all well behaved.

Cats are much less dependent on their owners, hence less assimilation of characteristics.  Just read a new study (like I needed one) that said cats don't miss their owners when separated the way dogs do.

They observed their eating habits, mood changes, and sleep patterns.  Dogs definitely miss their owners.  Cats only miss the owners when they need something.

That's nonsense cats don't miss their owners. I know that for a fact. Used to have a cat. Took care of more dogs than cats in my life but cats are quite smart and affectionate, but you need to be observant and use a different mindset than with dogs.

Cats have been known to eat their owners after they died.

If the cats were bigger, they wouldn't wait for the owner to die before eating them!

Face it, your cat doesn't care about you: Felines are more independent than dogs and don't miss you when you're gone, study reveals

Quote
...cats don't see their owners as a source of safety and security in the same way dogs do,
making them much more independent and less reliant.

In particular, they found cats don't suffer from separation anxiety and any noise they make
when their owner leaves is more likely to be out of boredom or frustration.
