That MIT girl at the airport was deliberately trying to provoke an incident.
Why else would she be wearing an electronic board on her clothing while carrying playdough at an airport?
She admits that she likes crazy ideas.

I do feel badly for the kid with the clock tho...

   Hope the "False Arrest" record does not affect his opportunity to go to the college of his choice
with all that cash he collects for his education from the Racial discrimination, rights violations  etc.... suits   ;D

  If it was such a real threat, why did they not evacuate the school and call the bomb squad ?   :wacko:

After seeing what the clock actually looks like I don't blame the teacher for calling it in but it could have been handled better.  You can thank the liberals for the no tolerance policy that get's kids kicked out of school for bringing a letter opener to class or having a butter knife in their truck.

Not saying this is the case, but is it possible this thing looked like a bomb or the child said something inappropriate that would have led someone to thinking it was a bomb and then when the kid got arrested he told the police and his dad some innocent story that the media then picked up as true?

OK, a kid of obvious ME descent, named AHMED MOHAMMED builds a "clock" that looks like a bomb and brings it to school.

He gets arrested, because it looks like a bomb.

Racial profiling? Yep. But, I think that any kid who brought something like this to school these days would've had a problem. I don't see any explosive compounds in this picture, but how difficult would it really be? I had the knowledge at 14 to build explosive devices from commonly available products and that same knowledge is widely available via the internet now.

I would say this is a "Better safe than sorry" moment. Teachers don't generally know squat about bombs, better to leave it to a pro.

Kids being expelled for biting pop tarts into the shape of a gun is ludicrous, this is one time, as a parent, that I think they made the right call.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again.
