if you're buying stuff wondering when the fear mongering is going to drive prices up, you've already become a victim and also a part of the problem.

I can only shoot so much guns at one time and be proficient at a few- maybe, given my average skill level.
Ammo is a good commodity to stock up on. Magazines too cuz you never who's going to ban them.
Econ 101 - human desire is infinite = greed
Anyways, I keep Maslow's heirarchy of needs in mind to keep my greed in check.
I think I've grown old enough to really ask myself what makes me really happy.
Guns don't keep me company very well - no matter what people think - they don't talk back or get up and start shooting people.

I got caught without any ammo and without any components to reload ammo with in 2008 for almost a year. And even then I had to pay $40 or $50 for 50 rounds of 9mm white box ammo when it became available. Since then I vowed I would never allow that to happen again. Since I don't buy nor shoot commercial ammo anymore (except .22 LR) I am totally self sufficient when it comes to the ammo I shoot. Keeping a supply of the different components and supplies can be a little daunting due to the number of calibers I reload for. I suspect that if things get bad again and last for more than a year or two I will have to get creative in order to continue shooting. Like using pistol powder for light rifle loads (Bolt action only of course). I will be shooting a lot of black powder if I start running out of smokeless powder. Can anyone say "Duplex Loads"?

The one thing I promised myself is that no matter what, I will not stop nor slow down my shooting because of this fear mongering and shortage of supply availability.

As it turns out I went through my loading supplies and I feel like I am a little low on one of my favorite rifle powders. So maybe I need to give in to the fear mongering a little and stock up just in case.....

Ever hear of Executive Orders or Executive Memos?  If not you should read up.  Won't necessarily stand up under legal examination, but they could, or might be years to get those addressed/overturned.  This is the scary part of having a nut job in office.

I went to SEC today and did a bulk powder purchase. I still don't have as much as I would like. But at least I know I have enough to last me for a while longer. And I left plenty for anyone else who is still looking for powder.

Applied for my last two handgun permits today. I am now going to concentrate on learning to reload and the material for that process.

I'll probably buy a couple more lowers and some reloading stuff.

Frankly though at a certain point you're better off investing your resources (time, money, focus) elsewhere than more guns.

Resisting the urge to get a 5.56 lower and just invest in ammo for what I have now, KISS theory.  One rifle, one shotgun, one pistol caliber.

Have stayed with two prime centerfire calibers all this time, fighting the urge for a "standard" caliber AR build as that just means yet another caliber to have to find room to store.  Firgured shotgun would most always be somewhat available, at least from what I see at Sports Auth.

Wife's little .380 need some good defensive loads, and that stuff is hard to find locally.  Luckily, her ammo gets stashed in her closet.
