I walk into an ATT showroom to replace a SIM card. I had an iPhone  that required a new card. Salesman looks at my iPhone and says your phone looks different ,its Made In China.

No big deal, I replied, " they all are Made in China. "

Another fat houli sale guy comes over and says very seriously , "yea, since the iPhone 3 they are all assembled in California with Chinese parts." 

I replied, "It says Assembled in China on all the iPhone display models."

Fat guy insists, "Those are the cheaper display models, but the new one in the box are Made in the USA. They import the parts from China and assemble them in California."

By this time the younger guy finishes and gives me back the phone and the new card.

I simply said , "oh, I didn't know that" (iPhone are made in the USA).

I left rather fast...........

God oh mighty help me! 

Not saying the salespeople over at Verizon are much better..... I am on Verizon and have been fairly happy with their salespeople and very happy with their customer service.

But this is one of the reasons I dumped ATT and ran away as fast as I could. It is not the only reason, however. Their customer service from the mainland is not much better IMHO. I don't want to type out my whole long story so I will just say I totally understand your frustration.

Im getting ready to walk in and buy a Made in USA iPhone and have it in writing.

I wonder what kind of lawsuit I can bring them?

T-mobiles coverage is suspect but I've been pretty happy with the Sales people I've worked with over the years.

This wacko was beyond stupid.

What, honestly, do you expect from someone who is working for minimum wage at an AT&T showroom?  This is a job suited only to teenagers or the marginally employable.

you would think that people who work in an at&t store would know how to take a cell phone pic without having their finger over the lens
but maybe not, if they believe that iPhones are assembled in the US...

Reading comprehension hasn't been stressed in schools for the last 20 years or so.

Obviously he saw the words "California" and "Assembled" and made the connection.

Probably worth a B+ in High School English these days........
