OGC, and the reason why
« on: October 15, 2011, 05:33:41 PM »
When people start in on how OGC is the best gun store I just listen and think, ok here we go again.

There are a bunch of gun stores on Oahu and although they're all different, I've always thought they were pretty much the same.

The other day OGC had 7.62x39 cases on sale and as usual, I was stuck at work the entire day of the sale.

I went to OGC today and asked Carter if the 7.62x39 ammo was still $269?

He said, "no, that was a one day sale.... But, hey I've got plenty, no problem, I'll give you that price."

That kind of attitude is the very reason why his little 20 square foot store that you had to walk up three flights of steep stairs to get to has transformed itself into the most popular gun store in Hawaii.

Way to go Carter, and thanks for another great deal.

I agree, business as usual for Carter and Eugene. Great prices and great service

I'd just like to say in the middle of everything today, Carter stopped what he was doing to help me fix my AR-15 and put the Single point mount on the back. I was really happy with his service!

Kinda difficult to find anything wrong... The parking is probably the only thing keeping that store from being over crowded.... It's hard to go in there with a plan.... After seeing all the new "CANDY" all over the walls and floors, the plan goes right out the window....

Like anything else, good competition is always good cuz it wakes "other" stores up from the normal high prices and grouchy service... Not saying that other stores give grouchy service or anything ::)

Just need more parking!  Haha, I noticed across the street on the left there's a fence...with a lot of parking space behind it...  Now if we can only sneak in there!

Yeah, I don't miss those stairs...  I love the fact that they utilize Twitter for something other than pictures of lunch.

No kidding, that and the guys who keep double parking in the back of everyone need a good kick in the balls.

Oooh, I was gonna start doing that... you talking about that silver pick up truck?  But if I'm gonna get kicked in the balls, I'd rather drive around a few times... Haha, or go Alicia's first and get some snacks.

^^^No just in general.  There are always idiots that double park in back.  Mind you this is after you've already driven around the block two times and lucked out that someone left.

I'm wearing a cup next time I go there, just I case I encounter any ball kickers.

Why?  I do it (2011 Tacoma Double Cab long bed Black), even the OGC staff recommended we do it.  We all know the situation with parking sucks.  Now if it was someone else who wasn't even in the shop  that did then yes I agree "Kick his ass seabass!"  Otherwise, just yell "Anyone drive a....blah blah blah?"

Better yet, if you block somebody in, take preemptive action and let the driver of the lime green miata know you're behind him whenever he needs out.

When someone sees you come out and start loading stuff and not even ask if that's your car - inconsiderate.

When someone parks perpendicular to the people in front of them and don't ask when someone leaves if they are XXXX type of car - inconsiderate.

To me if I was to double park, I would have one eye on the door and as soon as someone either makes a move for the door or the register, I'd ask them which car they were in.  Also when I've been in the store I've only heard one person tell Carter they were double parked.  In general I don't find it all surprising due to the way people drive in Hawaii.  Sorry about the rant.........it's a pet peeve of mine (thanks for being one of the few who asks about the double parking though).

I park around the corner if he is full. If were to double park (haven't yet) I would just tell Carter.
Relax, I've banned myself..

Understood and yes I am considerate with what you identified is what I exactly do.  Last thing I need is a long key scratch on my new truck.

I'm enough of a car guy that I would never ever deface someone else's car.  I look at them as people did in the Old West.  You screw with a guy's car or horse and you should be hung.
