L3 Communications EOTech Issuing Refunds For Holographic Weapon Sights

Last month, L-3 Communications was sued by the US Government in Federal Court for fraud
regarding performance of their line of EOTech Holographic Weapon Sights. The same day, L-3
settled with the US Government for $25.6 Million. This suit comes on the heels of a USSOCOM
Safety Of Use Message for the sights because of Point of Impact shifts in extreme temperatures
as well as other performance issues.

Naturally, some consumers have decided to stop using their sights due to concerns raised in the
SOUM and ensuing court case. Several EOTech Holographic Weapon Sight owners have contacted
EOTEch and requested refunds. So far, EOTech has reportedly been very positive and honored all
of the requests.

EOTech is reportedly refunding the purchase price plus $15 Shipping and Handling.

This is all over military forums.

I know a few guys who have returned EoTechs for full purchase price.....has breed quite a few people buying up used ones and getting full retail price back from L3. I don't think the full refund offer will last, so get it while you can.

On the bottom where they ask description of failure..what do I put?. or leave it blank because they already know what's wrong with there product. ???

I have an older 512 which I always had trouble sighting in.  Finally while trying to remove the battery cover, two of the battery terminal contacts broke off.  Maybe holos just not for me.
That is my only experience with EOtech sights.

Got my RMA from eotech this morning, they'll reimburse my purchase price + 15 for shipping.  This is way better than what I could have gotten for it in the classifieds.

I checked the thread on AR15. It looks like they are starting to process refunds from early December. No checks issued yet.

I haven't had issues with mine and I decided to keep mine... for now.  :thumbsup:
