I have kaiser & I have a question.

I just renewed my LR permit over the summer & also did my HG course. (I bought a HG also)

The question is do I need to do a medical background every time I go in to purchase a LR & HG. Or does it stay on file? Example 1year. Or am I SOL?

I want to pick up a new shotgun & pistol. Maybe a lower reciver too since everything is getting all nuts again.

Your good for longuns until you need to renew next year. Pistols need a separate permit to aquire for each pistol. That's where the issue lies.

your letter of clearance from a doctor is good for 1 year
your LG permit is good for1 year from renew date, no need for letter of clearance for LG since you already have the permit.
if you have kaiser and did not get a letter of clearance, then you'll need to get one for a new handgun purchase

and one thing i've noticed, officers are still telling people to ask their Kaiser doc to sign a letter
they wont sign it, its against kaiser policy, gotta go outside doc for a letter
good luck

What happens if I purchase and acquire a firearm out of state? Say I travel to Nevada, legally purchase a rifle from a big box store, travel back with it or ship it to myself, and try to register with HPD. Will they get their panties in a bunch and confiscate it? Or will they still get their panties in a bunch and let me register? Or will they make me apply for a permit to acquire (my long gun permit expired in June)? My understanding is that I don't need a permit to acquire if I already legally own the rifle.
