"What the Strip has now "isn't good enough," said Jan Jones Blackhurst, an executive and spokeswoman with Caesars Entertainment Corp., which owns the Paris resort among others on the Strip.
The Paris hotel is among several without a fence, barrier or raised sidewalk separating pedestrians and cars. Asked why not, Blackhurst said, "Probably because it was never required, and no one was thinking of this as an imminent danger."
Caesars has revived conversations with Clark County and law enforcement to make the Strip's sidewalks safer, including installing decorative posts allowing for the flow of people but not cars, Blackhurst said this week.
"You hate to learn the hard way," she said. "This has everyone's attention."

I think mandatory background checks before the purchase of a 2-ton death machine is in order....

we need common sense solutions to this problem
it's the car industry and their lobbying efforts that allows all these deaths to occur
think of the children!

It is obvious they cannot control these "car nuts", so everyone needs to be mandated to wear personal protective equipment!

You would perhaps rather live in Hong Kong? Or Singapore? Lashes or strokes of the cane for dropping a butt or spitting on the streets.
Good idea maybe but...
I'll stay here, or Vegas

Cant afford to live in either city,
Gasoline is $8 per gallon , parking is $10/hr (3hr min) , proof of ownership of parking slot to buy a car.

Smoking is banned in public,  in  both cities mentioned . The price for a pack of cig is about $13-$20 USD per pack.

Duty Free cig bought from the Airport are prohibited from import. only 19pcs of cig for personal use is permitted

Singapore is a Dictatorship , and both (HK) were UK colonies.
What can one expect from either?
