Registering Firearm if Homeless?
« on: December 27, 2015, 11:54:02 PM »
There  are more and more Homeless families on Oahu. Some just can't afford a home but do have jobs.
I don't see why a homeless person can't own a firearm for protection.

A resident of Honolulu and a US resident
A homeless does meet the sojourn clause within their tent.
An official address accepted by the The City and County of Honolulu.

Acceptable Documents for Proof of Principal Residence Address in Hawaii - Two Documents Are Required
       13. Documentation that the individual is receiving State of Hawaii public assistance dated not more than ninety days old;
       16. Homeless applicants may use the address of their current shelter agency, or if not staying in a shelter may use the general delivery of the post office nearest where they spend most of their time;

Because their residence usually isn't at the shelter. That's like me providing the address to where my mail goes, yet I don't actually live there.

And come on...we all know what would happen if people who actually reside at the shelter try and keep their firearms at the shelter.

I believe everyone good or bad should have a firearm.

not like HPD needs to know where i live, unless the registry was just a way to take away my guns.

Well until the laws are changed, HPD needs to know where you live, whether we like it or not.

I think that came out wrong.  Not good or bad...  More like fortunate and those less fortunate.

I brought this up in an other thread before.  Homeless should be able to own, if they meet the minimum requirements we all must meet.  Why should being homeless automatically remove your 2nd amendment rights?
