I have the Gunvault SpeedVault SV500 gun safe.
The Canon picture looks like a SpeedVault branded for Canon.
I wouldn't call it a safe. It's an electronic gun storage box that keeps guns locked away from kids, casual thieves, etc. It also offers quick access.
The four buttons can be programmed for single and multiple key entries (pressing 1, 2, 3, or all 4 keys at once) making guessing the combo difficult.
Minimum of 3 entries, and maximum of 6 entries.
It's 18-gauge steel. If you know steel, that's not the gauge you should trust with your $2,500 custom 1911.
I have a full size Sig 1911 Nightmare in mine. The foam holds the muzzle, presenting the grip to me upon opening. Easy, fast draw.
The big thing is the electronic lock. It can eat up the battery after a little more than a year depending on how often you open it.
I've had to use my backup key once to open it and change the battery. Not something you want to happen when you really need it. Now I have it and my other safes on a regular battery replacement schedule
I have it mounted under my computer desk since I work from home most days. Blends nicely with the black metal desk.
I've had this one for 3 years this coming Feb. I do a few function checks every month to make sure it opens and to practice keying in the code. Except for that one time when the initial battery died, I've had no other problems.
There's one thing some may not like. There is a counter-weight that drops and opens the door. It can be loud enough to draw an intruder's attention. If you want something for a bedside gun box, I'd get something quieter. I wouldn't want this to alert someone near the bedroom door if I'm opening it.
If someone breaks in while I'm at the computer, I won't need to worry about being stealthy!
