I'd like to see the gun shops support this and show up.

It might just be me, but they don't seem very active politically.

Not that this forum is the be all end all for firearms in Hawaii, look at the LGS here on Oahu how many are active here? How many even have functioning websites? I wonder how many LGS or employees thereof are here anonymously or just lurk?

I'll be there and hopefully convince some of my friends who own fire arms to be there also.  I can help printing out the flyers and would also like to help hand them out.

I agree about local gun shops.  One was quick to post to "hurry and get your rifle because the prices are going up", but no posts on 2a support?

Area Parking? Cost?
Bus routes?

Please post.

There's cheap public parking at the garage on the right side of Alakea St. just before Hotel St. And the court house.
It's a hop, skip and jump to the Capitol.
Not metered so you don't have to keep going back to feed.

Don't know anything about the bus routes though.

Bus routes?

Please post.

Go to google map enter your starting point then your end point as the Hawaii State Capital Building then select bus as your mode of travel and then you will have a complete route with transfers and walking guidance if necessary. There is no one route fits all solution as folks will be coming from different areas.

Stuff like this should have been planned for Last year, not last minute.

Take a page from the anti's book.

They Bussed their people in from parking elsewhere.

If you going to have a rally, plan the day to have it on.

Like maybe when bill cross over.

Or when they have a Hearing on a particularly BAD anti gun bill.

Ever notice that such hearings are held when it is most inconvenient for us Working people to get to?

The antis already have their bills and "their" legislators set to introduce them like precious years.

What the 2A guys should do is have a Rally on different weekends at different locations thru out the islands

to get UN registered gun owners Registered to Vote.

At the same time have another table set up Away from voter registration to get them to be Dues paying HRA members.

What is really needed is sheer numbers of Voting Gun owners, not mooching gun owners.

That's a reason Why the antis get away with so much.

They Know that gun owners are lazy and really will not vote their guns.

Got work :-(
"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."

Sorry our efforts are so "Last Minute", as you say.

Thing is, we've been waiting for the HRA or HDF to put something like this together, and it just hasn't been happening.

Don't get me wrong, they both do a great deal more than most of us see to protect our 2A rights. HRA does a great job dealing with the politicians and their bills, a no doubt boring and thankless task, akin to locking yourself in room full of third graders scraping their fingernails on chalkboards and squealing gibberish at the top of their lungs.

The HDF, well nobody can say Chris Baker hasn't done his part.

Remember though, we're not an "Organization". We're a bunch of loosely affiliated guys that know each other from the range, HRA or HDF, and chatting on this forum. We aren't getting any support from those organizations, we don't have a "budget" to provide transportation. Somebody had an idea, and we're trying to follow up and make it a reality.

Which is more than I see you doing.

9 people voted and only five of them said they would go just seems a little too small. It is also kind of short notice. Maybe we could spam all of the members of this forum with an email and that would be one way of getting more people to hear

I'm going, if no one wants to join me that's up to them.  I'll be the idiot waving the sign alone if it comes to it...   Time to stand up.

Yeah, in 2 days, and that's just on this site. I've got people on other sites that are saying they'll come as well.

On notice this short I'd be happy with 20 people. If the trend continues I think it may be more.

I'll be going regardless. Heavies is right, time to stand up for our rights.

Since it seems to be up to us, we'll go for a higher count next year.

Has anyone heard back from HRA?

Has anyone attempted to contact NRA, GOA or NAGR and asked if they would put the word out via social media?

HRA ?
Contacted NRA GOA NAGR ?

got about 750+ people reached and 12 page shares so far.

How that will equate to bodies, don't know.  It is a Wednesday, so.....

Not going to knock anyone.  Work and family is very important.  If possible, come out for a little while at least.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to get off of work to do this. I am in a complicated contractual obligation right now and currently covering for someone on vacation. I would put this company I am contracted to into a bad position if I took off. And I am sure my company which is contracting me out would not appreciate my doing this either.

I have to agree with the others here in regards to the last minute showing and doing this on a work day. The protest that I was at a few years ago was well organized in advanced and held on a Saturday when I could tell my work I was too busy to come in and not reap any dire consequences from doing so. We made a HUGE statement that day and there was media coverage as well as some interaction with the public. I think this is the way we should proceed in the future. I doubt that having a protest on a particular weekday by 20 people would make any larger impact than the 200 we had on a Saturday. I would love to do this with you guys but your timing and day of the week is precluding me from doing so.  :(

I agree with inspector. Unless we get more than 20 people it would be a waste of time.
To get a large group it would need to be sponsored by hra.
