Cheaper than dirt
« on: January 28, 2016, 08:39:30 PM »
Don't know if this topic came about in the past if so please delete. Well I ordered some parts on the cheaperthandirt website, checked out with no issues using my debit, then shipping to Hawaii came out to 24.50 and it said 7-10 days shipping using UPS and USPS. I placed the order on. 1-18-16 so it's been 10 days. I did the online tracking and it says shipped to post office. So I go to the local post office said the package is not there. I call cheaperthandirt and the customer service says "oh they are probably not telling  the truth" WTF! Well I made more calls and come to find out they shipped to a post office in Cali (Richmond) and from there it'll be put on a fkn boat and won't arrive till the end of February or beginning of March. I told cheaperthandirt I want to cancel for a refund and they told me that can't happen till the parts arrive and I have to send back. I told them this is bullshit and it never states it would take that long online.  Nothing indicating Hawaii would take longer, and the 7-10 is for the 48 states. There was no option on the shipping indicating 2-3 day priority mail or anything.
Don't know what your experience has been with them but just keep in mind it may take 5/6 weeks for your shit to arrive on isle. This is just FYI, hope you guys gals don't get this type of service.

I have had orders from both Brownells and Midway with "7 to 10 day shipping" take 21 days. Now, if I see "Richmond" on the tracking...  :(

I had a few orders "accidentally" get put on a boat. Even some small bubble wrapped packages. I'm sure it's what happens when they want to mail it to you for cheap.

Shit for 24.50 you'd figure they can ship USPS priority 4-5 days in a medium box for damm grip pod and butt stock.  Well I just reported to the better business bureau and filed a complaint cuz they shouldn't indicate 7-10 days when in reality it's more like 30-45 days. It'll take my business somewhere else, shit and to think I was gonna buy an Acog from them, fuck that. I'll spend the extra bill and go to ogc

I boycotted cheaperthandirt YEARS ago after the sandy hook ordeal.

I suggest never buying from them ever again.

More and more companies such as CTD, Brownells, Midway to name a few are going this route. It sucks. I stopped using CTD when their shipping started costing more than the pieces I was buying. But to spend that much on shipping and to have it take that long is ridiculous!  :wtf:

Like buying from some EBay sellers and they want to charge double because you live in Hawaii and the item fits in a flat rate box.  Or those that show they ship to U.S., and after you win the auction and give them your address, they reply "we don't ship to foreign countries".

I used to be an eBay seller. I charged exactly what it cost me to ship which. I always re-used packing materials and boxes. I also used free shredded paper when appropriate for packing. Unfortunately nowadays you have e-mail the seller first to make sure unless they specify shipping here. I do buy from eBay sellers still if the price and shipping charges are inline. My list of businesses I deal with is getting a little smaller all the time. Even Amazon Prime is starting to restrict items shipped here.  :wtf:

+1, but this was after their stance and they started price gouging during the first ObamaScare.

Amazon prime in general is sucking
Ordered arrows  from 2 different vendors, both from China. January 9
1 amazon Ptime, the othe $5.99 shipping.
$5.95 shipping came in 5 days and AP hadn't even set a shipping date.
Then I find out last week I'd get them Feb 7-14

thinking about not renewing my prime,
but am worried that with the increased shipping times on prime, how long regular $35 free shipping is taking?

Everybody is looking for a free lunch.  There are conditions and hiccups associated with the "free" part in life. You must have patience "grasshoppers". Or you could elect to pay for shipping in which case the shipping charge might cost more than the part.  If you order more that twice from Amazon and had to pay shipping, you will wish you had Prime.
