"Hawaii consistently shows up in other measures as the state with the lowest rate of gun deaths, even though its rate of gun ownership grew by 300 percent between 2000 and 2014. In fact, the ratio of guns to people in the Aloha State is roughly 1:1."

Clearly more guns don't equal more gun deaths/crime.
"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."

Sorry Q,
I don't see any BS except that the numbers add up, unfortunately including "Hawaii ranked 46th or lower nationally on all the metrics except for “gun control contributions to congressional members per capita,” where it popped up in 29th place."  the probable cause for the rest of the figures.  :(

The BS is that they keep attributing low numbers of gun deaths and gun violence to gun laws. The problem with their theories is that they never consider or mention the geographical factors that greatly influenced the sociological aspects of Hawaii's society.

We live on an island... Where are we going to go? Before we have the technology to travel  long distances in a short period of time and before globalization,  we were pretty much stuck here  along with everyone else was here, so might as well make the best of it  and  help each other  to make life  as functional and easy as possible.

And because we live on an island and because we are so isolated from the rest of the world, and generally makes more sense to be nicer to each other as it makes more sense to work together and live in peace on such a small isolated land mass than to hate each other and want to kill each other, and not work together.
