Awesome. The more I learn about congress the more I am surprised for how many rules they have.

You know what, if a congress person wants to wear an aloha shirt, what are they gonna do, fire him?

They will not let them on the house floor.  And thus they still have a job but are unable to vote on legislation.

What I am wondering is if the Congress person says that their attire is worn because of religious reasons.  They have to state they have a "deeply and sincerely held religious belief" which requires them to wear that attire and I would like to see what happens.  Does the Congress, and Paul Ryan deny them their 1st Amendment rights?  If so I would sue them if that was me.

I might be in the minority, but I think this is an idiotic idea.

You aren't alone.

But this throws a wrench in my plan to wear black BDUs onto the House/Senate floor when I become a politician...as well as my plan to rock double drop leg holsters packing raging judge magnums, and either a shorty cigar or a huge wad of chewing tabaccy.

Do they have bouncers in congress or something? Screw their overly strict rules.

Although... I have seen an aloha print suit coat before, perhaps they could just wear that!
