Such a tragic day as  Scalia was one of the lead voices on 2a rights.  Now any 2a cases going to the SC may be doomed if Obama is able to appoint the next justice.

Hopefully the GOP and blue dog dems will block anything Obozo tries to do. talk is cheap, lets see if the majority stands by they told f*ck face. If Hillary wins and goes thru with who she would nominate (if we lose the majority) then we'll be looking at Justice Obama (God help us)!

Can they even hear cases if there isn't an odd number to break a tie?

While I don't like government just stalling and stalling I don't want Obama to choose the next justice either.

Is that even a realistic theory? I mean he has no experience as a judge.

I did find out that if there is a tie, the lower court's ruling is upheld.

This makes me worry for gun rights.

Now they are saying Obama could make a recess appointment without Senate approval.   Everyone is saying it is the Indian Sri Srinivasan.    2 Amendment is in a lot of trouble right now.

Realistically speaking, gun rights are now pretty much over.

Scalia dead just days after SCOTUS ruled against BHO's push for more people regulation under the tale of "clean power".   These days there is no such thing as coincidence.
Get ready for more "events" that will impact this nation in the coming months.  The emperor doesn't want to give up his throne.

Yes, they can still hear cases. There will just be ties now.

News said cases that are tied can be deferred until they get a full house.   Let's hope for the best but quietly prep for the worst.

I am surprised I haven't heard anyone claim he was assassinated yet in some elaborate conspiracy theory.

I'm sure they're working on it.

Rumor has it that he was found with a pillow on his head, and the fact that the family elected to decline an autopsy is unusual under the circumstances.

The fact remains, he was 79 and apparently was beset with myriad health issues. These things happen.

again we may never know the truth.

http://www.redflagnews.com/headlines-2016/what-justice-scalia-told-his-security-before-dying-may-have-changed-everything

Conservative Tribune

A statement issued by the U.S. Marshals Service on Sunday, a day after Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died while at a ranch in Texas, had many wondering whether his death could have been prevented.

“The U.S. Marshals Service routinely coordinates with the U.S. Supreme Court police to provide security for the Justices, however, Justices may decline USMS protection,” the statement read, according to CBS News. “In this instance, the USMS detail was declined for the personal trip to the hunting resort in Texas, so USMS personnel were not present at the ranch.”

It continued, “Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Western District of Texas responded immediately upon notification of Justice Scalia’s passing.”

According to The Washington Post, however, Presidio County Judge Cinderella Guevara pronounced Scalia dead of natural causes — though she did so without ever seeing the body or ordering an autopsy.

Instead, she relied on testimony from law enforcement agents, who assured her “there were no signs of foul play,” as well as testimony from Scalia’s physician, who claimed that the justice had died from a buildup of several chronic conditions.

She also took into consideration testimony from John Poindexter, the owner of the ranch where Scalia died.

Poindexter explained that Scalia’s behavior the night before was normal, with the justice having gone with a group to hunt blue quail and then later attended a private party. Everything seemed fine until the following morning, when Scalia never showed up for breakfast.

But when Poindexter went in to check on the justice, everything again seemed normal, save for the fact that Scalia could not be awakened.

“Everything was in perfect order,” he said. “He was in his pajamas, peacefully, in bed.”

From the initial sounds of it, Scalia did indeed die of natural causes. However, the question remains: If U.S. marshals had been on the scene, could Scalia’s death have been prevented?

Please share this story on Facebook and Twitter and let us know what you think about the odd circumstances surrounding Justice Scalia

Former Intel Officer Suspects Foul Play in Death of Antonin Scalia
February 15, 2016
by Paul Joseph Watson

A former U.S. Army intelligence officer who had a top secret clearance suspects foul play in the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

“The circumstances surrounding Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia’s death are growing more suspicious by the minute,” writes Ray Starmann, who worked in Army intelligence for eight years before becoming a journalist.

Starmann points to the fact that the story appears to keep changing, with initial reports that Scalia had died of a hear attack later denied. He also questions why no autopsy was performed and why Scalia’s body was quickly embalmed, “erasing any chances for the coroner to conduct efficient toxicology tests.”

“The same people who want you to believe Scalia died of a heart attack or natural causes are the same people who want you to believe that Hillary won the Iowa Caucuses with six coin tosses and the same people who want you to believe after fifty years that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin of President Kennedy,” he writes, adding, “Of course the MSM has reported on none of this. Even Fox News refuses to cover the strange occurrences in Texas.”

Starmann even suspects that reports of Scalia having a pillow over his head when he was found dead could represent a message being sent in the style of The Godfather.

“Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes. The pillow over Scalia’s head wasn’t put there by a Hispanic maid. The pillow over the head is a warning,” he writes.

Now that Scalia is gone and likely to be replaced by a leftist activist judge, Starmann fears that the constitution is about to be eviscerated.

“Scalia was the tie breaking judge, the man who could push back any liberal policies being shoved through the court. With Scalia’s death, the Obama Administration or a future Hillary Clinton Administration has a green door to confiscate guns, flood the country with illegals and wreck the Constitution,” he writes.

As we reported earlier, suspicion surrounding the circumstances of Scalia’s death continues to build, with a poll showing 79% of over 40,000 respondents believing there was foul play.

In a related development, William O. Ritchie, former head of criminal investigations for D.C. police, wrote that he was “stunned that no autopsy was ordered for Justice Scalia”.

“How can the Marshal say, without a thorough post mortem, that he was not injected with an illegal substance that would simulate a heart attack,” asked Ritchie.

“Did the US Marshal check for petechial hemorrhage in his eyes or under his lips that would have suggested suffocation? Did the US Marshal smell his breath for any unusual odor that might suggest poisoning? My gut tells me there is something fishy going on in Texas.”
