Hi cap Glock mags in a 9mm AR 16" rifle

Just wanted to know the Hawaii laws on this situation.  I'm interested in building a 9mm AR.  Palmetto has dedicated 9mm lowers that take Glock magazines. Would I be able to legally own a Glock mag with a capacity of more than 10 rounds if I have a 16" 9mm AR?  Thanks!

It's my understanding that magazines with 10+ rounds are strictly LEO only.  Even though it will be used with pistol caliber AR, and not a pistol, I believe it would be illegal because it could be also used in a handgun.   By no means am I an expert, so you could also check with a local gun store to make sure.  Good luck!

Hawaii State law prohibits greater than ten round detachable pistol magazines, including rifle magazines capable of use in any pistol.  :(

I wonder if you could get away with having a groove cut in the mag well and welding a nub on the magazine making it incapable of fitting in a pistol,

Thanks for the info guys... What about a 9mm AR setup that uses the Colt/metalform pattern magazines? I would imagine it'll be similar to an 5.56/.223 in that a 5.56 mag can be used in a pistol system but yet it is still legal here in Hawaii. Any thoughts?

The Colt 9mm 32 round AR-15 magazine is occasionally available at some LGS so I guess they're okay.

If it's doable, it would have to be done prior to entering Hawaii probably.
