Fun day at KHSC with my new M1 Carbine

So I recently traded Pit808 some money for a Saginaw M1 carbine. 

Today, I took it and my IBM both out to the range.  I hit that secret sweet window of time where I was on the waitlist for nearly 5 minutes, and proceeded to settle in. 

Both carbines have very similar accuracy, which made me happy.  I can consistently hit minute-of-bad-guy at 225 (or so) yards from the bench or kneeling, and minute-of-zombie-head-shot at 50 yards shooting freehand.  This with Kokohead being its gusty best.

Yep, gotta say, I love these guns! 

I'm planning on taking Wednesday off from work to go back out there.  Maybe I'll do some comparison shooting with PMC and Wolf ammo.  Or maybe I'll have a .30-06 day, haven't decided.

Nothing like a day at the range shooting carbines.  There is just something about those little guys that make them so cool and fun to shoot.

Someone left a lot of Carbine brass behind today!  by stall 88.  I picked it up.... just looking for some 110gr bullets to reload with now.

Damn if that weren't me!  I was in 86!  Some guy had the only brass bin filled with his .223 leftovers, so I just swept my .30 carbine in on top of it.

I have a 64 Plainfield M1 Carbine. Since I started shooting it after a 20 year absense I have been buying Tula Steel Case. figuring I wasn't going to shoot it all the time.
But I enjoy shooting it so much now I gotta reload.

I was hoping someone like you would find that brass.  I even picked up some from in front of the line just to drop it in that scoop!

Funnest gun I ever shot. <This, after very careful reflection. Recently mounted a scope on one of mine with a Weaver sidesaddle mount. Bought it with the receiver already tapped for that mount. Peep sight wuz okay when I was younger. Been wanting to get out to the range with it for two weeks now.

Scope mount is simply as outlined in pic, scope rings are labeled "Weaver Tip-Off Pat No 2803907 1.000"  USA."  Stock must be inletted to clear the mount.  Scope is an ancient Valor 4X-32 I had lying around for which I lost the scope caps.
