multiple transfers as protest ?
« on: May 08, 2016, 02:03:18 PM »
Has any one though of doing a firearms transfer as a method of protest against HPD's bullshit registration requirements,

Take a group of people and 1 firearm and transfer it through every one in the group ? 10 people in line, Transfer the same firearm multiple lines, I understand it may cause disruption to others but that is what a protest is about.

you could even transfer it through the same group multiple times in multiple different orders.  HPD would be required by law to complete each transfer and would have no legal means of stooping it.

Perhaps they may not like it, but they getting paid for doing it. Easy money. It's part of their daily routine. If it made the process longer they would just keep laughing at the longer waits. They might even ask for more money or personal to help.
I don't get days off during the week to be able to stand in line.

I don't agree with protests that inconvenience others or are irritating.  Like those people that block freeways, shout obscenities interrupt speeches, etc.  You want to make friends, not make more enemies.

HPD wouldn't mind.  They're getting paid, it discourages people from buying firearms, creates internal enemies in the 2a community, etc.  There's a lot better ways to make use of volunteer time.  Those people can sit down and talk with their state legislators, attend their neighborhood board meetings, volunteer with the HRA, create 2a events, etc.

I could use volunteers for the KHSC petition.

Here is just an idea:  I am opposed to any regulation of the second amendment but with that being said, who would rather have an issued gun license With a ten year validity for a nominal fee and unlimited acquisition of firearms once you jump through the hoop?  Seems to me it would limit the standing in line and give you a little more freedom....  I know that we should not have to do any of this however to me it seems mainly only to be a revenue production scheme.

What kinda revenue is produced when applying for a permit to acquire or registering a firearm? The only thing you pay for is your fingerprints and that is only once.

That's a good compromise to ask your legislator to bring up next year. Combine long guns and handguns onto one license, have a 14 day waiting period to get your license, and buy all the guns you want and get em the same day.  You'll still have to go into get them registered but that's only 1 trip to HPD versus the current 3 trips.  I think HPD would agree to that since it'll reduce their manpower needs.  Gun stores would have to start doing that instant background check but should be happy since they can get everyone thing done at one time.

Considering that this is an election year and they pulled that shit on us, I don't expect them to be doing us any favors next session especially next year not being an election year.

We'd basically be hurting ourselves to protest them.  I think the better form of protest is for everybody to buy more guns.

Just register the owner and issue a license versus bringing each one down and paying to register.   14.75 per time right?

No the $14.75 is a one time fee for fingerprinting if you have never registered a firearm or applied for a permit, you do not pay that each time.

Ok I stand corrected.  Would it not be more easy though to skip the registration process and just have licensed firearms owners instead?

Having a "Licence" for ownership means that you no longer have a right but a privilege.

If the owner is licensed then they will know.  To me it is a much easier process than registering each and every weapon and obtaining "permits" to acquire weapons

Anythings better than what we have now.  Change the law so that we get a firearms license which does away with the waiting period and permits for each handgun and annual long gun permits.  We would just need to do the firearm registration. I think the law makers and police could settle for that.
