Went to my local Kapolei store and there were a bunch of people in the gun department. One was buying a Vortex scope 10% off for $189. Another buying a knife at 10% off. While another was stocking up on shotgun shells at 5% off. I couldn't decide if I wanted to buy something I didn't really need. The glass on the Vortex scopes was pretty good but I didn't like the reticle. Guns were not discounted. All 9mm, 40 and 45 ammo were gone except the high end defense rounds. I saw some .17 rimfire, .32 Magnum, .380, .38 Special and 30 carbine. There were 13 boxes of Aguila Super Extra Subsonic .22. I bought a large bottle of Hoppe's.

Best item for sale there was a snow board.

Yes they had .30 Carbine. You know, for your M1 Carbine, Ruger Blackhawk, etc. I don't remember the brand.

Windward Mall has 10%-30% off signs as of Thursday.

A friend went to the Windward Mall SA yesterday and he mentioned that they had .30 carbine ammo in stock.  I think he said about $24 for box of 20, but don't quote me on that.

Anyone else find it strange that they advertise 10%-30% off but only offer a 5% discount on ammo?

SA Waikele has signage up that firearms and ammo are excluded from discounts at this time. Right after I posted above the counter clerk told me ammo is 5% off.

They have a few boxes of .30 carbine at $24.99 per box before 5%

I wanted to get one of the nice Boyt/Bob Allen gun cases those are also excluded from discounts currently.

The firearms counter clerk said there are still containers on the way.

Addition Kapolei's ammo shelfthey have about 20 boxes of .30 carbine on the shelf.

Clay shooters there is a pallet of clays on the floor 135 count boxes for 15.99 then 10% off.

I was there this morning Saturday. Nothing even close to a good price with many exclusions. Perhaps i wasn't looking for the right things.

Went Windward Mall. Bought my son some shoes. Kids soccer, baseball, and football shoes were 30% off. Had to be lucky lucky to find the style and size. Rest of store discount and exclusions was disappointing, but tons of people were still buying.. Maybe getting caught in the moment.

Ammo 5% off at Windward Mall.  Not many calibers.  No 22lr or 9mm...

Kapolei store, ammo shelf is pretty empty.
Most of the camping equipment is gone.
Lots of exclusions as well.

Went by Waikele and Kapolei yesterday.  Got my boy some football cleats 30% off, ended up being a pretty good deal.  Not much in the way of ammo, and prices weren't particularly competitive.

Also looked at 10'x10' canopy by QuikShade; SA wanted $189, 10% off at Waikele, no discount at Kapolei...  Amazon said $84 w/prime shipping.  Wonder why SA is going out of business?

Despite what many would consider a "not so good" discount, many just buy it just because it may not be there tomorrow or later in the future. Fearing it may not be there causes a lot of IMPULSE buying. Which is what a "liquidation" sale or closeout does for public reaction. I would bet in the near future there'll be a lot of these items for sale in the "classifieds" section of this forum.

The shelves in Kauai - they still have a few guns - 5% off ammo basically no tax everything in the store is 10% not much of a liquidation sale!

Handgun, Sports Authority?  Never seen on in our local store. 

If they had these prices all along, they might not have made huge profits, but at least kept the doors open.

Every time they had a sale and the usual exclusions..........................

On maui all of the hand guns are gone already. Ammo had the 5% off, but only had 300wsm, 380, 9mm hp. They are saying that the firearms will be shipped back if they dont sell.

I want to see if any gun lockers get a decent sale price!
