22lr mail order in the 48s
« on: June 04, 2016, 09:16:27 AM »
Anyone here have any recommendations to online sites to order 22lr ammo shipped to the continental US? A family member is living in one of those areas where ammo hoarding is still going on. Places like Midway don't have much either

You didn't mention if they were looking for target/match grade ammo or low end plinking type ammo? Powder Valley has limited supplies of SK and Lapua last time I looked. Never used the Armory but they had Armscor available yesterday when I looked. Both of these places will ship to Hawaii BTW. Best shipped to us maximum weight per pallet. There is always the CMP but what they have is terribly expensive right now.

I only know about places that will ship here. I am sure there are other places that will ship to the lower 48 and maybe cheaper than these places will.

I forgot to mention, WM, BPS, GM and Cabela's all have recently been reported as having .22 ammo at various stores. It might be worth a phone call and a bit of a ride to try any of those places.

Multiple questions (apologies for the noob-ism):
1) Are there a lot of these places that will ship here?
2) Is there a minimum/suggested amount?
3) FFL transfer needed? Direct-ship to my home?

All the popular big retailers nearby are low. Was told that people stand in line every week when they release their shipments. It's easier down here. It's so bad I'm bringing a brick up with me. . Midway only had CCI std which we bought. Looking for a little plinking type and majority midrange stuff like CCI std. Prefer by the case

Thanks. I'll look into some of the options mentioned. I remember when guys were buying cases of blazers for $99 from somewhere and posting on RFC.

1. Very few. And it is expensive due to the shipping and hazmat fees.
2. Maximum allowed per pallet to maximize your investment is recommended.
3. Usually direct ship to your home depending on how it is shipped. Sometimes they ship only to a business which could also be a UPS Store or similar. All depends on how it is shipped. No FFL needed for ammo.
