The point was that all the encroachments alluded to in that video are equally relevant to 2A rights and with each law that stomps on the constiturion, we become less free.
The main problem is that too many legislators are used to writing and passing any law they feel like, since they know that for the most part, challenges to their constitutionality are only done with great effort and time and money --and usually long after the law has passed --and that it's a coin toss, depending on the justices involved, as to whether a law is Constitutional or not.
In general, they therefore feel they have license to just write or vote for any law they want without any personal responsibility or liability for going along with it. And they know that by the time challenges are made, we will have "gotten used to it" --not only with respect to the law itself, but to the fact that our freedoms are bartered away, and who cares? The Constitution is just a scrap of paper anyhow, and, as a "living document," is subject to change whenerver it doesn't fit into anyone's current notions of what's needed.
Examples of the above abound, as, of course, exceptions to the above do, also.
The point, in short, was, that if I feel a need.... or even a want... for a full auto drum-fed 12 gauge shotgun, I ought to be able to buy it, as I wisecracked in another thread.
