EDC is Spyderco Para 3

Is there not a knife length limit in Hawaii?

made a little something for one of my favorite folders
its a snakeknot lanyard with titanium Punisher bead
it actually helps with drawing from my pocket when its clipped.  gives me a little more to grip so i'm not fumbling in my pocket for the knife, I just grip the lanyard with my last 2 digits and pull then the knife is right in my hand

got this from ebay for about $40.  black Friday gift to myself
Kershaw Link 3.25" blade 420HC steel (not so great, but I guess ok for a cheap knife), speed safe assisted opening
pretty good for a cheap knife. my second Kershaw folder.  didn't like the first one bc it had the speed safe opening with a thumb stud, don't know why I bought it in the first place, this one uses a flipper which I like.
on the smaller side of what I like to get, but I think it'll be real good for when I want something smaller and lighter.  feels real nice in the hand, just fits in my palm

Nice!

And damn you!  I had sort of put off the search for knives as I got sidetracked with life, new TV, etc.   ;D  Anyways, I lost a bet to one of my best friend's son and now I owe him two knives.  So he calls me last night and says that he wants the Benchmade knife that his dad has.  Well, it's a $160 Benchmade.  But they no longer make it.  I was thinking I'd get him a couple of Kershaws or something.  But he goes, "uncle, you can just get me one Benchmade instead of the two that you OWE me".  The "owe" part was surely emphasized.  Haha.  Keeedz.

I gave my nephew a Benchmade Osborne design knife for a graduation present when he graduated from police academy a while ago.

I have an old school benchmade from the late '80's.  was pretty cheap back then around $20
back then their emblem said "Balisong" not "Benchmade"
my friend bought a Benchmade balisong back in the '80's and it was about $200.  now they go into the $300 range

One of my main EDC blades is a Benchmade that I bought at a gun show in WA state in the late 1990s.  It has the same balisong emblem.  I want to say that I paid like $50-60 for it.  Did a quick search and they no longer make it.  I see it on some Benchmade forums as a "vintage" knife.   ;D

A buddy from AK is looking into these.  The link is for the fixed blade version.  The folder is nice, but also $490!  :(

They have another one that was just released too.  The Megapoon or something like that.

I was considering pick up one of their fixed blades, but now I'm leaning toward sticking with a Bradford.  Probably Guardian 3.

Bradford makes good stuff.
I was considering one of their knives too.
but I got a Balisong instead bc it was on sale.   :D
I know Balisong isn't a great choice for self defense, but I just wanted it.  i'll post pics later when I get a chance to take some pics.  its a really nice balisong (Bradley Kimura, made by Bear Ops)
I still might get the Bradford later as well   :shaka:

Don't lie!  You're keenly interested and you know it.

Haha.  When I saw the product name, I was like  :wtf:  But their money maker is the Harpoon, so I guess the larger version naturally is the Mega. . . Well, and they are from South Africa, so there's that.  8)

got these on cyber Monday deals.  since the sale was good, no reason not to get them.
I already have a couple lower end balisongs, so these are a nice upgrade
the top one is better quality, made by Bear Ops. tighter tolerances, although with the torx screws you can adjust tension
the bottom one is better for doing tricks and handling. made by Bear and Son  I prefer the balance of these handles better than the straight handles like the top one, but that's just my opinion
