Got the Zilla in the mail today, and wow!!! This knife is well worth the money
at $85 it is a bargain
154 CM steel, large modified sheepsfoot blade it is a very useful tool. The detent is perfect, on the stronger side so if you like a strong detent for a snappy deployment, this knife is going to impress you. It is as good opening as any of my ZT's

The detent and the opening is one of my priorities in folding knives. This is a make it or break it to me. I'll take a lesser steel like 154CM or 14Sandvik or S30V, but a weak detent is where I draw the line. I wont accept a weak detent and weak-ass opening

I am really impressed with this knife. I'm going to order another Oknife bc this one is so good

S30v is a “lesser steel”? I’m just getting into the world of knives and I was looking at getting a buck 110 folder with a S30V blade cuz I thought S30V was good lol. Was also looking at getting a Benchmade Bushcrafter that has the same blade material. What makes it a lesser steel in your opinion?

S35VN, and S30V as well are my among my favorite steels for knives.  My preference is M390, but it's harder to find these days and when you do, it's pricey.  That said, I don't feel that I am losing anything with S35VN over M390.

Do you find S30V hard to sharpen? What are your guys favorite sharpening stones? I was thinking of picking up one of those resin ceramic stones from spyderco.

No, at least not with the Wicked Sharp system. Many of the supersteels have a rep for being tough to sharpen. It may take a bit more time than the higher carbon steels, but they hold the edge longer.

If using a fixed angle system like the Spyderco Sharpmaker, it will take a while to match the angle. I used to use whetstones for folding knives,  but I got way better results from the sharpeners that you can fix the angle to the particular blade grind. I use whetstones only for kitchen knives now.

I thought it was cool that the designer is from Hawaii
it is very well built, design and ergos are great, but the best thing is the action.  it is super snappy deployment, detent is perfect to me, a little on the strong side but that's how I like it.  no matter how I try, I cannot fail the opening.  it always just fires right out
