an example of good coexistence

Between firearms owners and everyone else is at Kokohead Range.
We have hikers, technically trespassing forward of the range and we have no mass shootings. Thousands of shooters a year and countless rounds of ammunition. AR,Aks all kinds of firearms being used and not a hiker shot. In fact all hiker casualties were a result of trail use.
So why the banning of these so-called "weapons of death" and increased scrutiny of law abiding citizens?

I believe the answer to that is, "if it saves just one life it will be worth it."

Oh, I thought you knew: because guns.

Their misrepresentations, fabrications and outright lies about the "facts" and "statistics" regarding "gun violence" are nothing more than a smokescreen for "because guns". I'll admit that there are quite a few ignoramuses in the legions of "gun control" advocates, the "useful idiots" if you will, who believe everything they are told without any critical thinking, questioning, or research, but the leaders of these civilian disarmament movements have exactly that agenda at the forefront as they disingenuously clamor on about "battlefield weapons of war" (name one army in the world that issues semi-auto-only AR-15 platform rifles as standard battlefield gear), "gun deaths" (over 2/3 of which are suicides, and all studies show that when a means of suicide is limited, overall suicides do not decline, only the methods change), "common sense gun safety regulations" (HAHAHAHAHAHA!!), etc., etc., etc.

There is no such thing as a "good point in case of an argument with someone anti gun". Just ask 'em. /sarc

In this case we did.
The State and or City has allowed hikers to use a trail in front of an active shooting range. We the shooting community are only alllowed to shoot at a max 100 yards and have faced increased scrutiny from the HK neighborhood board. The range has been in existence for several decades over a trail that is hazardous and questionably legal.

Exactly. All Hawaii gun owners have ever done is compromise.
Time to start making them compromise, and us to start taking back.

As I've written before, here's my compromise bill:

A Bill Concerning Gun Control

HRS 134 (Repealed)

So far I can't find anyone in the legislature to introduce it, even as simply a "courtesy" bill.

That would still leave in place the federal background check requirement when transferring a firearm through an FFL, as well as all GCA 1968 and NFA 1934 requirements. Those are already far too much of a "compromise" on our part. I'd rather those were repealed as well.
