If there's one thing I hate worse than a liar, it's a robodialer telling the same lies!   :wtf:

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

No problem with the landline, it is unlisted though.

This is obviously harassment and terroristic threatening and according to laws recently passed here in Hawaii, she should have her firearm rights removed.

Do you belong to a union?

Many of the unions have predictive dialers that are linked to their database of members and call them to tell them who to vote for.   I've worked on several of them.
Hawaii carpenters, PRP, HGEA, UPW, HSTA all have them.
Collection agency's have them too....

PeaShooter

I don't think so, but people in my family are engineers and we work on some government jobs, so maybe?

whynow?

Getting calls from mainland polls and other calls not answered with different area codes.   Must be cause I voted in the GOP caucus.

I wonder if there is a legal recourse to this? Could you robo-call their campaign office phone numbers? Dial their toll free numbers and leave the phone off the hook so they get charged for the usage time?

I don't have a landline and I haven't received any political calls to my cell that I recall.

PeaShooter

Apparently I was not the only one being harassed by this. The calls do seem to have stopped for the time being. From what I could gather, such calls are legal, but only to landlines. However, these particular calls were possibly illegal if they weren't actually from Clinton. They may have been from a private organization trying to scam donations, or another political organization trying to use reverse psychology and annoy people against Clinton.

I live in Hawaii.  I will vote for Hillary.  Hawaii will vote for Hillary.  That is a statistical certainty.  So why am I getting robocalls EVERY SINGLE DAY?  And they are awful shouting rants that make me want to hang up immediately.
What genius thinks this is effective?  The calls are awful.  Why are they spending money harassing me like this?
Just saying...

The consensus of the commenters appears to be that these robocalls are bogus organizations trying to scam money.  That sucks, but I much prefer that to having them come from the campaign.

You can file a report on the do not call registry website.

PeaShooter

F@$# I just got a new Hillary Clinton robocall. This time it is just talking bad about Donald Trump in particular, and it mentions his name way before it mentions hers. I think this might be a scam again, because eventually they ask for a donation. My landline phone doesn't show me the number that is sending the calls, so hopefully the same people as last time report this to the Federal Trade Commission and get it stopped.

I also got one robocall from Charles Djou but at least his was proper. He only called once (so far) and the robot identified itself and its purpose immediately. UNLIKE all the Clinton robocalls, which are totally shady. It seems that Djou has been criticized for this before. http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/12675712/djou-using-taxpayer-funds-to-make-robocalls

Another beef I have with Djou is that he has been putting up campaign signs everywhere. His campaigners have put up signs in my yard twice, each time without permission. In fact, I explicitly told anyone who ever came to my yard asking to post a political sign that they did NOT have my permission. (I do not know if those folks were from Djou, as they never identified their candidate). The next time someone asks for my permission, I will ask them who is their candidate and if they say Djou, I will yell at them. The other candidates have not put up signs in my yard, though a couple blocks over there is the typical house that has political signs for all candidates right next to each other...

I filed a complaint with the do not call registry, as advised.  I didn't provide the phone number of the source, though apparently that may not help anyway. From the Do Not Call complaint website:

Since 2009, the FTC has seen a significant increase in the number of illegal sales calls - particularly robocalls.

I gave you the phone number of the company who called me illegally. Why isn't the FTC doing something?

Current technology makes it easy for scammers to fake or "spoof" caller ID information, so the number you reported in your complaint probably isn't real. Without more information, it's difficult for the FTC and other law enforcement agencies to identify the actual caller. Nonetheless, the FTC analyzes complaint data and trends to identify illegal callers based on calling patterns.
