Rep Takai passed away

He died from cancer in his home.  I knew him a bit and and worked a little bit with him.  He was a nice guy and down to earth with regular people.  He was Antigun, but did what he believed in.

All politics and kidding aside, I'm sorry for the loss to his family and friends.

We all have to face that final curtain.  All we can hope for is to have made a difference with the time we were given.

Rest in peace.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Rest in peace and condolences to his family and friends.  This is the times where politics leave and we are all faced with the facts that our time under the sun is short.  Live right and live well.

God bless him and his family.

Mark and I were best friends through high school and our swimming years. Lost track throughout the years as we grew into adulthood but one thing I remember well was he always aspired to be a politician; we were early teens when he made that statement. I admire a man that works hard and reaches his goals in life. Despite our differing political and world views I was always still proud to say he was a friend of mine in my youth. My condolences to Mark's wife and children and Mr. and Mrs. Takai, Ross, Nadine and Nicki.

Aloha Mark!
