I'm pretty sure the RONI doesn't change the barrel at all. That's an extension and not really a barrel. The RONI attaches to the accessory rail on the pistol. The MechTech might attach to the rail but it is also a replacement slide and barrel.

Years ago I bought one of these conversion kits and I could not get any decent accuracy unless I hand loaded the cartridge and seated the bullet way way out. My kit had an abnormal amount of free bore. I also had to clean the bore every 100 rounds or accuracy went down the toilet. Accuracy was about 3" at 50 meters on a good day. Sending the kit back to mech tech did not resolve anything.

Mech may have improved their product and customer service since then, but on the other hand........

Illegal in any case.  Pistolas cannot have stocks or forward grips, and short-barrelled rifles are subject to National Firearms Act tax stamps.  Which you are not allowed to have in the great state of Hawaii.  :(

I would check this. I'm pretty sure I remember something recently about changes to AOW and fwd grips.

You're probably talking about the Franklin Armory XO-26 which has a forward vertical grip but no stock. It's not an AOW or a pistol or a rifle or a shotgun (I think), it's just a firearm. The reason being is that it has no stock but is 26" or longer.

I'm in the mood of rearranging the firearms I already have..... ;D

It's like $350 for the basic kit...so you have to put a stock at least to make it decent...

So it comes out to like $430....

I wanna rearrange my 1911.... ;D

We can't go full auto
