I have a 10,000 gallon catchment tank and a storm only makes it overflow, so no water supply worries for me.  I have two 2 burner propane stoves and 5 full bottles of propane.  Tankless propane water heater and a solar water heater.  A quiet Honda eu3000 and a loud 4800 generator with 30 gallons of gas.  Backhoe and chipper full of diesel.  I cut a bunch of 2x4, 2x3, 2x2, 1x12 with lengths ranging from 6 to 15 ft on my Woodmizer the other week.   Also got a 100 ft roll of 25 ft wide 6 mil clear plastic.  I think I am ready.

Other than a little rain early this morning, no rain since 0900 and only light wind.  I am in the Glenwood area of the BI.

Well Darby turned out to be a non-event for my area of the BI, for which I am grateful.  Hope it is the same for Oahu.  I am working there Monday to Wednesday.

Glad you guys are o.k.   Better sometimes to just have a boring weekend without the added drama.

Had a Chat with my neighbors across the street, they just moved here this month from France and have no clue about hurricanes, So i printed them a couple of flyers and put them together a bucket for them to get them started along with a list of what they should add to get by. Building bonds with your neighbors is the best way to not have issues and to keep your neigbour hood safe and its better to help them help themselves then have to make them go away if the big one does hit.

Coming from Asia with a Typhoon every week ,  Yearly average with direct hits were seven from July to Nov.

Ive gotten used to Hurricanes. They don't phase me at all, The worst Ive encountered was 5 days without electricity.
Nothing really went bad in the fridge, just eat all the perishable stuff first.  Water was sufficient for showers and drinking for 3 days from the faucets. .....

Only thing was no AC and it gets humid at nights.

With this and a case of water you should be able to shut 2 people in a room and keep them alive for 3 days, The biggest thing with me is to instill the sense that they should look after themselves, A lof of people have no clue what they need other then what city mill tries to sell them and even worse is when they buy it they have no idea how to use it or what to use it for. Im not a survival expert that being said im happy to take the time to sit, explain and educate.

Oh and if anyone else makes a bucket, Take a 6 inch green or white Glow stick and hot glue it to the inside of the lid. When you open the bucket you have a light source that is going to work right away and allow you to find the candles or flashlight inside.

Here I am in Waimanalo and it is getting far worse rain than the Puna area of Big Island did yesterday.  Hearing loud thunder right now.  Hope I don't get rained out tomorrow.

Lost power early tonight twice but longest was only 5-10 minutes.   Had already ate dinner.
Still hearing thunder rumbling on the makai side of my house but no rain.   Big rain came about 1730 and before 1830.
Had pre-staged some lanterns in different rooms and put fresh batts in the portable radios.   Rotated water in 6 ea. 5 gal. jugs.
