Quite a mess on the roads late last night.
I had a hard time trying to get home.
Dillingham and Nimitz looked like a demolition derby.
Cars all over the road sideways and bashed in.

I was out from around noon and it was actually pretty dry until around 6 pm in town when it just started POURING!  It was actually sunny just before.  It was very intense at times and I saw at least a couple of cars that were stalled out at the intersection of Keeaumoku and Makaloa.  We ended up going home around 10:30 pm or so and the rain was intense off and on.  Luckily, we were in my friend's SUV which had higher ground clearance and even then, there were some standing water that we didn't want to take a chance at going through.  Heard about H1 west bound closing down at School Street.  Reports when I left my house this morning was that that stretch was reopened, but crews were still working on clearing debris. . .

Holy. . .  :o

Did a car or cars go through the chainlink as well?  Or is that swath of what looks like disturbed earth from the water running from the street onto the freeway?

Damn.  Looks like cars tried to go through, got stalled out and then the area continued to flood.  Damn.  I wonder what kind of insurance will cover that, if any. . .

I used to work there.  The company wasn't too smart in building in a flood zone and next to gaspro.  At least they have the generators on the roof.  I remember when a cylinder blew at gaspro - it shook the whole building.  All the stupid employees ran to the windows facing Gaspro to see what caused the noise.
