As long as we have the free market then someone will step in and provide financing if there is a profit in it.
Crazy but if private companies don't want to crowd source funds for particular causes that is their freedom. At least one company filled the void.

Nothing really new, but I'm sure they'll try different or more aggressive ways.

This has been going on since 2014 and likely even well before.  The firearms industry, be it firearms, accessories, training, etc appears to have thrived during that time.  While limiting financial opportunities will likely hurt further growth, there seems to be no shortage of goober-type tactical, armor plate, etc companies starting up here and there.
