Oahu Gun Enthusiasts:

As you may have heard, Al Mongeon at Ready on the Right will be retiring in September.  He asked me to post the following message re: his retirement.  If you have a gun on order and unsure if it will make it to him before his retirement or you have a gun on consignment with him now, call or email him for instructions(DO NOT post questions to him on this thread, he does not have an account here).  He can provide recommendations for an alternate FLL on the Windward side if you need.  Please address questions to him via email or call him at the contact information provided below:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Albert C. Mongeon, doing business as Ready on the Right (ROTR), will, as of the 1st of September, 2016, no longer hold a valid FFL from BATF&E.  The FFL I have held for thirty years will expire and I shall not be renewing it.  Albert C. Mongeon will be turning in all of ROTR’s records to the BATF’s Out of Business Records Repository in Virginia before the end of September, 2016.
I had a rough go of it last summer (2015), with too many ambulance rides to and weeks in the hospital.  I have other things to do before my time is through and I don’t care to spend it on record keeping in triplicate (in three different formats).

I will continue taking tables at the Hawaii Historic Arms Association’s Blaisdell Center gun shows in March and October.  I have plenty of non-firearms inventory to sell.  I may also sell off some of my own personal US Military collection of firearms, bayonets, swords and accoutrements accumulated and collected over time from various mainland gun shows and here at home.

If you have something on consignment here at ROTR or are planning to make a purchase of a firearm from an Internet source and think you might want ROTR to receive it for you I won’t be able to help you after the middle of August, 2016.  Especially if the item is a handgun or you do not have a current, valid Hawaii Long Gun Permit To Acquire (PTA).  Remember, there is a fourteen day wait for a PTA to mature at HPD.
If you do not come by 301 Kailua Road, Windward Oahu, and transfer back your consignment items, with your PTA, I shall have to transfer them to myself as a private citizen with a PTA for the item(s) and transfer registration(s) so I may close out ROTR’s records.  BATF allows this procedure in its regulations.  At least touch base with me, please.

Yours for the shooting sports,
Albert C. Mongeon, dba; Ready on the Right
