Considering the present politically correct climate. And considering the attitudes and the way I have seen the moderators claim they want this forum to be portrayed. Do you think it good to have a picture entitled "Burglar Extinguisher" in a thread that is not associated with a joke? Just throwing the thought out there.

It's obviously a sick joke meant to taunt Hawaii gun owners!  That suppressor thingy doesn't exist here!!

IDGAF either. Just trying to point out to the moderators that in the past they were worried about how the forum looked towards outsiders and those who are afraid to participate for whatever reasons.

MODERATORS, If my trying to be helpful is not welcome or not appreciated let me know.

Hi Big All, thank you for cautioning London808 about the post.

It's safe to say from the original post that London808 meant this for the jokes thread.

I don't believe we ever censored anyone on this forum unless they were either extremely derogatory or insulting. The moderation on this site is VERY lenient compared to any other site that I have seen.  Just the fact that we are allowed to discuss political issues at all is huge.

We are not trying to be a 100% right wing conspiracy site, and value the input of views from any side.  The value of looking at ALL positions in this battle is very valuable to our mission.  And, frankly, trying to squash other ideas, positions, and opinion is Un-American. No better than the liberal loudmouths that infect our country today.

If you cannot see the value in that, and cannot understand the big picture, I don't know what else to say.

I thought that the pic in London808's post is pretty clever play on words and funny at the same time.

I do understand what you are trying to say though, Big All.  Guys, the meme-like pic above is not legal advice in a burglary scenario, especially not in this state.

In no way should the pic above be taken as legal advice.

I think you are taking what I said completely wrong. I remember reading somewhere on this forum that the moderators were concerned about how some of the posts could be mistakenly misconstrued by those who either are easily offended, of the female persuasion, from the HPD, Feds, lurkers, etc. I was just pointing out to you moderators that having a meme that is not in the joke section of this forum that insinuates killing someone may not be taken as a joke by those who may be on the left side of the tracks, from HPD, Feds, easily offended, female persuasion, etc. etc. etc. If you don't see that nor care I don't either. I was trying to point something out and do you a favor. I am sorry I even said anything. Next time I will keep my mouth shut since you don't care neither do I.

I agree that what London posted is funny and a play on words.

My suggestion that it be moved to the joke section was only due to something I read somewhere in this forum that you moderators were concerned how posts can be misinterpreted. I thank you for understanding. I am sorry I said anything though. Next time I'll just shut the F up.

Let's take a look at it like this....

If you had a small fire in your kitchen that can be remediated by means other than a fire extinguisher.  Such as placing a lid over a pan with a small fire.  Would you instead unload a fire extinguisher on it, thereby fouling your entire kitchen and home?  No you would take the least obtrusive method possible to remedy the situation.  This would cause the least damage to self and property.  Common sense.

Same with the "burglar extinguisher"

It serves the same purpose, it is there when the situation goes beyond what can be accomplished by less damaging means.  If the situation calls for an extreme measure, the tools are there to keep you safe.

Thanks for taking this light hearted post to a real serious look at political correctness with your jab at forum moderation.

Very much so!

I used to be staff on one of the larger gun boards and IMO, the Mods/staff here are very lenient.

I am now admin on another smaller gun forum, and when we started the forum, we made rules that specifically said no politics and no religion.  Plenty of opportunity for that sort of discussion all over.  We just made the decision that we didn't want any of that shit storm in our forum.

I think Heavies got it.

There's just been some recent discussion about moderation styles so I think Heavies was just trying to explain again the moderators' position on the moderation.

No harm, no foul.

Again, the concern you shared is appreciated. Thank you. :shaka:
