I don't have any real expensive firearms.  my most expensive ones are around $1k so I don't consider them high end or expensive guns.
but I do have a few that I think I got my moneys worth, and they were relatively inexpensive

what's your bang for the buck firearms?
either handgun or rifle.  doesn't have to be your best one, could be more than one.
relatively inexpensive, and yet performs well.  something that you feel that you got your money's worth and you would recommend for others to get if they are looking for something on a budget.

My best bang for my buck firearms would probably be my Chinese SKS and my Mosin-Nagant M91/30. The SKS I bought for cheap second hand in the early 2000's for old time prices it was under $100 bucks if I recall correctly, it was my first rifle. It's is a joy to shoot the only thing I have done to it mods wise was to reinstall a bayonet, it goes to the range with me often.

Second rifle I love is my M-N 91/30 it is fun to shoot recoil and all, I shot it so much the first time I took it out I bruised my shoulder. I purchased it from a local LGS for $199 I have not done any mods to it, it is as purchased/issued. I was on convalescent leave following some post deployment medical care and removing the cosmoline and getting to know that rifle did me good.
It was my first bolt action rifle and is pretty much guaranteed to accompany me to the range, it's fun to ring my 8" gong with an iron sighted 73 year old battle rifle at 100 yards.

I don't own much I paid over $1200 for most of my collection was under or right at $1000 and they are all shooters and fun in their own way filling different niches. I find myself drawing more to old classics and military surplus the modern rifles and all of their plastic parts don't do it for me.


I baked the M-N for a week in my vans dash to help get the cosmoline out of the wood and other parts!

From the ones that I've owned or had lots of time with are Glock 17 and RIA 1911.  Both excellent all around guns and awesome value for the money.  Never felt like I over spent with those two guns.

I'd love to have an inexpensive SKS (like above) or other 7.62x39 surplus type rifle.  However, that window in time was years ago as the prices have gone up at least 3x since then. 

I spent quite a bit on my first ARs, maybe even to the point of overspending, especially with my LMT.  While I don't regret any of those purchases, knowing what I know now, I might have gone with something different. 

Kahr CM9.  Was about $400 OTD.   Great little pistol, awesome double action trigger, very shootable for such a little pistol.  Great value for a small SD pistol, IMHO.

one of my bang for the buck guns is the Ruger American Rifle Predator in .308 I got for just over $400 out the door
comes with rail installed, threaded barrel, adjustable 3-5 lb trigger, free floated barrel
its not a sub moa rifle, but a great starter bolt gun
the target is with federal 168 grain ammo

good shooter, for a CCW pistol 

Got my Ruger Single Six used for around $250. Replaceable cylinder allows for .22 mag ammo. Got a Ruger 22/45 for $125, just had to replace the extractor. Both great deals I think.

I got lucky for once in my life and bought a Smith and Wesson model 29 in 44 mag for $275 that had been shot once and put away, basically new. It was my woods gun back home for over 10 years. I bagged 6 whitetail deer with it, and a bunch of other smaller animals.


Here it is next to my ~100 year old I-frame in 32 long. It kinda shows how much and how little the Smith and Wesson design has changed over the years.

I also picked up a used savage mk2 22lr for $90, and it paid for itself very quick taking out farm pests.

Bang for the buck? I consider long term reliability a factor too.

Glock 17- because they are inexpensive and reliable and customizable (personally I don't really care for mine because I'm old school)

Colt Govt 45 auto- and I don't mean a 1911 clone....a real Colt. Even though it may cost a little more I don't have to worry about the metallurgy.
So it should last a long, long time.

Colt AR15- same reasons as the Colt gvt 45 and it is a fine general purpose rifle.

Ruger 22 MK1.2.3 series pistols--same reasons as the G17
and the 10-22 of course

300BO. Every time it goes bang it costs me a buck.

I would prob also go with the glock 17.
