Okay, who here did this... not surprised by the answer.

Question:  How can I nullify a firearms registration?

Answer:  A gun owner may sell or transfer ownership to a licensed firearms dealer or to a private citizen who has a valid permit to acquire the firearm.  They may also turn in their gun for destruction to the Honolulu Police Department.  Although registration of a firearm can be transferred, there is currently no process to un-register a firearm.

When I bought a G17 for my daughters wedding present and brought it to CO, I asked HPD if I needed to file any paper work to which they replied " Once it's out of state, we don't care".
I did get a receipt of "acceptance'' of the fire arm from me to her from her just in case.  ;)

   Registration is a part of their attempt for accountability, but without unregistration, there is no full accountability.
