I don't know about you folks, but I don't do any type of survey that asks for personal information.
And a question like that would certainly get a hang up from me, so I don't know how much weight I would put in these types of numbers... Just saying.
Hawaii's numbers would be accurate, I would think, since we are forced to register everything.
I would never violate any Federal, state, or local laws, but at least on my island I'd say,
anecdotally, that there is a large number of guns that are not registered, never will be registered, and
I doubt the cops will want to force the issue on my 80 year old auntie with a model 1894
stashed behind the front door for shoot wild pigs. I also have neighbor landowners that periodically
shoot automatic weapons at night. Nobody calls the cops( I don't talk to cops as a rule), they won't
show up anyways, and I don't want to piss off the landowner.
Bottom line is outside Honolulu county, it is a lot more free, is a LOT safer, and there is less
of slavish capitulation to government orders.
