I've never been a fan of fearmongering nor of stereotyping as tools of effective advertising. I think the only effect this is likely to have is to reinforce negative views of the NRA and its membership.
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

How would you deliver an effective message on the subject any other way? I mean I agree with you on principle but in this specific election, we do face a president picking justices who could eat away at firearm rights. I find that hard to deliver in a positive light. Just have a video supporting trump instead, saying he will protect our rights?

I think those that have had to get out of bed because of a disturbance and walk through their home at 3 am with a surefire and HD can really appreciate this.
It's adrenaline pumping even when armed.

The stuff they have on Youtube is just awful. Wayne giving a motivational speech with star trek lighting is the last thing I want to throw money at.

This is how you deliver an effective message:

What's good for the goose.....

The progressive liberal elitists have been using fear-mongering and stereotyping  tactics for decades.
The big difference is that the libs tell the populace that they should be afraid of firearms AND the people (NRA members) who like them.

The NRA spot tells the populace that they should be afraid of criminals and those politicians who wish to restrict or disarm ordinary citizens.

Let me translate that into a liberal media article.
A black person was shot by a white woman.
A black family man was looking to support his family when he was shot by the white homeowner.
