Who wants to be a police officer today?

With so much backlash against officers who likely did the right thing to de escalate things...who wants to be a local LEO?

I understand the duty and code that police officers live by but with the general public at large not wanting police why do it? I'd sit down in protest. Sit in a squad car. But then again LEOS are held in a higher standard than a professional NFL player being paid millions.

It's a job, but not an easy one.  With all the recent backlash of anti-LEO sentiments, seems like a more dangerous job too.
I think, therefore I am armed.

I'm just venting that with all this negative sentiment, what does our society want? A lawless one run by war lords or one that that suits them for THEIR selfish needs. There's no outcry when another person of another race is shot. In Charlotte, the suspect was shot by a black police officer. The media seems to portray these suspects in another light that LEOs don't see when they run checks. The media portrays a "family" man not a person with a long history of criminal activities. Maybe that's the problem. Widespread reporting that seems to fit not an objective story - but one that fits a skewed agenda. But to what means?

Like many black men who have died during confrontations with police, Boyd's name was trending...but there were no immediate protests....

The article references other protested incidents but it does say that there were no protests over this particular incident. There is a lawsuit but there will always be lawsuits; the police will win it and move on.

Our society is not unified in what it wants, manifesting here as a racial divide.

Did you see Clinton's comments on the most recent shootings? She is stoking that fire real good. She says she is going to be the bridge, the one to be able to talk to white people and make them see the light.

"Maybe I can, by speaking directly to white people, say, 'Look, this is not who we are.'"

I think Hawaii probably gets it way less. Blacks from the mainland sometimes bring over the oppressed victim status but local blacks seem to see it differently.

I heard a Hawaii sheriff died recently from a staph infection thought to have come from a scrap received while wrestling with a homeless individual. Haven't been able to find an article though.
