I'd buy one if I can find reasonably priced ammo for it. :-\

Too little, too late Ruger  ::).  If you had bothered to do this with the MKIII, I would have got one in a heartbeat but, I already purchased the SW22.  It fills the role of an easy to clean training pistol fine.  So mad at Ruger.  They only put effort into it after they realized that they don't own the market when S&W dented their sales numbers.

So how is the SW22 and would you purchase it again. Objective as you can be of course. I would very much like to buy a .22 pistol. Whenever any thing new comes out to market, I tend to stay on the fence till all the bugs are worked out. Interesting to note that firearm manufactures products are not regulated by the government  when it comes to quality and safety.

My opinion only,

If I had to do it over again, I would wait for the Ruger MK4 to come out in the 22/45 version where the grip angle matches the 1911 closely.  I would call the Ruger and the SW22 equal trigger and accuracy wise but the MK4 push button has taken disassembly to another level of simplicity, even better than the SW22.

The MK3 disassembly and reassembly could be frustrating, sometimes it went back easy, sometimes hard.  Lots of cussing on my part.  I used to never clean it until it started jamming because i just didn't want to get into it.  You could buy special tools or an aftermarket part to make it easier but the SW22 solved it first with the single bolt take down.  It was never a quality issue but a usability issue with the previous Ruger design.

Ruger has a winner but just too late to make me change back.

the disassembly and reassembly was why I never bought the Mark series of pistols.  and I'm a big Ruger fan.
I'm glad that they came out with this improved version.  and yes, they should've done this a long time ago.
now I am definitely getting the Mark IV.
I have plenty of ammo to feed it!

Gallery of Guns has them listed but "allocated".  Also see some on Gun Broker.  Haven't been to the local shops recently.
