New Years Resolutions

The new year is almost here.

What firearms or shooting related new years resolutions do you have?

As for me...
I'm going to join another shooting club or organization.
The more different styles of shooting I do, the better.

I'm going to resolve to build an AR from stripped receivers and get my fat ass into zombie apocalypse-surviving shape.

I was thinking of maybe buying less firearms next year and maybe joining a Firearmaholics Anonymus meeting....

I just bought a 4x4 Nissan Pathfinder that I wanna lift and make "BATTLE" ready....
So if I can just figure out the secret on spending way less money on firearms I'd be ok..

Okay, since it's resolution time, I will finally convert my Saiga like I have been planning to do for maybe two years now.

To evaluate my collection, choose a direction, and pursue it.  To sell off guns that were fun to buy, but never get used.  To purge my safe of all things "miscellaneous."  To get rid of the geegaws and whatnots I've accumulated.  And to once again make shooting a regular event in my life.

I don't know if you recall the last Presidential election, but the prices skyrocketed and the shelves were barren of rifles.  If I were you I'd seriously look into getting the big bad black rifles before a handgun.  Store shelves were literally bare and the asking prices went through the roof.

1) Get that hunting class in. After 6 years of "Fuck! Its full already!!"

2) Settle on the best loads for the XD and the Marlin. Soon.

3) Order those powders in bulk. Right after soon. The local shops are making their first orders mid January.

4) Make and shoot LOTS of bullets. :D (Since then be too poor to do anything else for entertainment)

5) Work on longer range accuracy offhand with open sights with said loads.

6) Use the scrap lumber and whatnots laying around the house to make a reasonably portable setup for pistol combat training.

7) Use it.

That's my plan. We'll see what actually happens.

by the end of this year I will

1. be able to reload consistent ammo for all my center fire guns
2. have a stockpile of lead, primers, and powder along with a functional casting setup
3. have 12v solar power backup system with an inverter so I can keep reloading if the power goes out
4. have gone to every shooting event and learn as much as I can about firearms handling and safety
5. have gone hunting at least once a month

other than that i'll probably pick up an sks or saiga sporter and a case of ammo. not sure right now because there's a lot of other preps I gotta catch up on first.

1. Get in better shape
2. Get my preps and supplies more organized
3. Do some kind of formal rifle and/or pistol training
4. Learn to reload
5. And of course buy and try ALOT more firearms.

Good luck with all your resolutions guys  :shaka:

I too would hope to get more trigger time, become a better shooter, and make more friends.

True That G!!!,

I remember all to well how the prices went soaring and how the price of my beloved Saiga 12 doubled.  My brother-in-law and his brothers started buying up AK's at the inflated prices because they were afraid they would be banned completely.  I better add that to my resolution too then... finish my 6.5 Grendel project ASAFP before I get boned on that too.
