Stolen Vintage Spotting Scope
« on: October 14, 2016, 02:12:21 PM »
Hey gang! I recently had a vintage japanese spotting scope stolen out of my truck box that looked identical to the one in the attached pic.  The tripod is similar to the one in the pic but slightly different. It was a large and cumbersome scope to use compared to what's available today but was still worked well at the rifle range. If you come across someone trying to pawn it, please hit me up.

TIA

Fark sorry to hear that you had your scope stolen. What area was this in and when, so others have an idea where to look. Do you have facebook? There is this group https://m.facebook.com/groups/stolenstuffhawaii/?view=group you could try posting there. I'd check Hawaii (Oahu I am guessing) Craig's list in the sporting goods section. I'll put your post up on the Oahu Gun Club facebook for you. All the best I hope it's recovered.

Thanks for the recommendation and keeping an eye out for it.  I'm not sure where and when it was stolen since it could have been anywhere I drive. I didn't realize it was gone until I went to the range and realized it was missing. I'll check out the link you provided and keep an eye out on craigslist.

I'll keep an eye out at the swap meet!  Just the kind of item that always catches my eye.  Hope you get it back.

Mahalo to the anonymous person(s) who donated a spotting scope to me to replace the one that was stolen and to Macsak and X-Ring for facilitating the pick-up. I owe all of you a debt of gratitude.  :shaka:
