Magpul glock mags
« on: October 30, 2016, 11:23:06 PM »
Just got in an order with two glock 19 magpul mags.   They are made for 9mm.   They fit great in the gun and drop free once empty.   Just for s#its and giggles, I loaded them with .40 cal rounds to see if they would feed in my Glock 23/Timberwolf.   They fit and feed .40 flawlessly hand functioning.  Only hold 10 40s

thumbs up on them.   Will try them out at the range this week.

I think you have a typo. It fits 10 rounds due to the follower. I want some of these same mags. Where did you order them from?

I'm LE, and possess the mags legally.

Well that sucks. I thought somewhere was blocking them and selling to mag cap states. Reasoning was because you mentioned the follower being the reason you fit only 11 rounds. But that comment has since been changed. I was hoping to try those magpul glock magazines.

I am sure there is a way to block them so that you can have them in HI.  I will look into it

I paid $16 and change for them each delivered.   I ran them yesterday, they fed great with 40 out of 9mm mags.    Had to change the connector on my Timberwolf though - trigger kept not resetting.   Went to my 4.5# connector and no issues.

For the glock 19 mags, this is the link

http://www.magazineblocks.com/magento/products/magblock-kits/pistols-3/pmag-15-gl9-magblock-10-15-9mm.html

Bare in mind, I am using 40 cal rounds and the mag only holds 10, maybe 11 if I force it.  I think some epoxy built up on the follower or base pad will make it a 10 rd .40 magazine.

If there is enough interest in the mag pul P-mags, let me know.  I will do a group order.  You will have to provide me the mag blocks however before I could transfer them to you unless you are LE.

I have been thinking of getting some but not sure about the quality and reliability.

Buy the magazines as a parts kit (costs about $2 more) Drill a hole in the magazine at the 10 round mark, insert and glue a plastic rod through the holes so that the follower cant go below the 10 round mark. Assemble the magazine, you now have a 10 round magazine that is not readily restorable to full capacity.

OR have some one LE buy the mags and modify them for you.

I could see modding Magpul mags if Glock OEM mags were more expensive but they're like $25.00 shipped online and come with Steel reinforcements don't they?
