CCW : Fighting the wrong fight
« on: November 06, 2016, 07:32:43 PM »
So i was thinking, We have been going about the CCW fight all wrong, We have been arguing that we have a right to carry a firearm outside of out home but the supreme court has already ruilled we dont (concealed) and we are waiting to see about open carry.

The 2008 Heller supreme court decision gave us all the parts we need to actually fight and win, And its how they interpted the law with regards to self defense.

The supreme courts decision that you have the right to bear arms outside of the militia and particular the wording they used to state that you have the right to bear arms in the home for self defense. In doing so they have stated that the right to self defense and that right is constitutionally protected.

Therefore instead of fighting the law on the basis that we have a constitutional right to bear arms outside of the home, We should infact be arguing that we have the right to self defnece out side of the home. No court in this country would be crazy enough to say you dont have a right to self defense.

Cause self defense technically doesn't require a firearm.

And our liberal political leaders see nothing wrong with an 80 year old or a physically disabled person trying to defend themself from a group of young thugs without the use of a firearm.

I believe you may be referring to Illinois, which was the only remaining state not having any provision for carry outside the home (Moore v. Madigan). Indiana has for a long time allowed both open and concealed carry with a state license, which is "shall issue".

According to the state's official website, "carrying an exposed firearm in public may be alarming to some people and create unnecessary and unwanted attention to yourself." Yeah? Well, f*ck those people.  :shaka:

Their idea of defending yourself outside the home is with a cell phone.
