Democrats promise to kill any national conceal carry reciprocity agreement in the senate

Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat and ardent gun-control advocate, said he believes any version of a national reciprocity bill would be “dead on arrival” in the Senate, due to strong Democratic opposition.

Blumenthal has also said that Democrats are planning to push forward with even more background check legislation, and work with Trump on banning those on the terrorist watch list from owning firearms.

Isn't it incredible that Democrats have nothing between their ears?  They just don't understand that all the background checks in the world will do nothing at stopping "mass shootings" because the vast majority of these shooters do NOT go to FFLs or gun shows to get their firearms.  They're absolutely clueless on anything of an intellectual matter.  (I don't want to paint them with a broad brush because there are some so-called "democrats" that do get it and probably would support reciprocity.)  Anyway, at the least the stock market is incredibly supportive of a Trump victory as we keep hitting record highs almost daily since the election.

Democrats can still fillerbuster the Senate, so I don't think the existing do everything reciprocity CCW bill will pass.  I think there will be a compromise bill where you have reciprocity with your resident CCW permit and this has a better chance of passing.  Or it may have a better chance of passing in 2018 when republicans get stronger in the senate.  Or granted from the Supreme Court in a couple of years.

In other words, don't hold your breath.  It'll still be a while but prospects look good.

I want to remain optimistic. In 2018 the democrats have 23 seats up for grabs.  They continue with their bullshit and they're likely to loose a lot of them.

Time to start making them into dino demoRats, and bring those rino republiCraps in line!

I thought last year they changed the rules on fillerbuster and you can't do that anymore.  The head changed it last year I've heard people saying

Fillerbuster rules are still on for most stuff.  They eliminated it for certain specific things.

These f*ck*rs, er, *ssh*les, uh, duly elected representatives of the people never give up... and you can be sure that ours, Hirono/Schatz, will be right on board continuing to vote against our legal right to bear arms outside the home for self-defense. They don't have the votes unless they know for sure some RINOs will join them... though I suppose they will attempt to filibuster, which would require 60 votes to pass. The possible upside is that the more they obstruct such legislation the more likely that they will suffer more losses in the senate in 2018 where more than 2/3 of the senators up for re-election are Democrats... some in purple or reddish states.

That concerns me.  It sounds like the just the kind of issue that Trump would make a snap "that sounds like it makes sense" decision on, to thunderous applause.

I have the ability to change my legal residence to Washington state.
A shall issue state, a no income tax state,  mostly reside in Hawaii,
and still get the local homeowners exemption for my Hawaiian
home.
All quite legal in both states.

One would think that the Democrats think they have control of both houses of Congress.  With Republican majorities in both houses (including Democrats that won't vote against it because they don't want to lose their seat in 2018, especially if their state HAS concealed carry) I hardly think it's "dead on arrival".  That's extremely wishful thinking on the part of Blumenthal.
