Next Sunday will be the annual Ka Iwi Coast Run.  The ENTIRE highway, both directions, will be closed from just after 6:00am.  If you can’t make it to the range before 6:00am, you will have to wait at Sandy Beach until it reopens.  Last year the highway was reopened just before 8:00am.

KA IWI COAST RUN/WALK
 
KA IWI COAST RUN/WALK  sponsored by Hui Nalu Canoe Club. The event is expected to have 1,000 runners.  It will start at Sandy Beach Park., to Kalanianaole Hwy., to turn into Maunalua Bay Beach Park at Keahole St, to finish at Hui Nalu Canoe Halau near Hawaii Kai Dr.  Kalanianaole Hwy will be closed in both directions from Hanauma Bay Driveway to Kealahou St. from approximately 6 am to 8:30 am.  Contact:  Bozo Vierra 383-8396 For more info, visit their website at: http://www.kaiwicoastrun.org/.
