Everyone is entitled to their opinion, which, correct me if I am wrong, is the spirit of the2a HAWAII forum.  GZire is absolutely right in that time will tell as the facts are discovered and as of now everything is just conjecture.  @vooduchikn, your post of personal questions for "credentials" make me feel I have somehow offended you, for this I sincerely appologize as this was truely not my intent.  The intent of my comment(s) was really just to provide another opinion, as we do not have the facts and as an obvious supporter of LEO and our military forces, I did not want the issue sidetracked by an anti-LEO sentiment due to the actions of what seems to be a single Kauai LEO. I will however maintain my opinion that the real issue was the actions of an obviously troubled individual who was acting in what appears to be an irresponsible and irrational way which prompted the Kauai LEO to do their best to maintain control given the many unknowns and potential outcomes.  Being that there was no loss of life, and the stand-off ended with the guy surrendering, I'd venture a guess it ended as best as it could have.  Keep in mind the road blockage was not a routine or planned santa claus parade or traffic accident road closure, it was a potentially dangerous emergency situation with again many unknows, even by the LEO ordered to secure the road.  It appears the only known fact, was that shots were fired in a residential community for reasons unknown and the suspect was not yet apprehended and still at large in the proximity of his known residence. Again if allowed to venture my humble opinion only time will tell as the facts are revealed, but I am glad it ended somewhat peacefully, and with what seems to be minimal casualties (less the alleged verbal abuse by Kauai LEO to a person).  As we all know Hawaii cannot afford any negative press when it comes to our 2nd Amendment rights.  Thank you again 2a Hawaii for providing this forum and ability to exercise our consititutional rights.
