Ban cars and butcher knives in light of OSU attack?
« on: November 28, 2016, 10:29:51 AM »
I wonder if Hawaii's legislators will join with Bloomberg sock-puppet Shannon Watts (of Demanding Moms) and call for immediate action to prevent such tragedies in the future?

Those possible solutions would likely be (based upon their reasoning re "gun violence"): 1. Ban "assault vehicles" (aka "cars"), or at least ban the "high speed vehicles" which can cause extensive damage when driven into groups of people (and used to commit suicide). Besides no one "needs" a high speed assault vehicle. 2. Ban deadly "assault knives" (aka any knife except maybe a midget butter knife made of highly flexible biodegradable plastic made of cornstarch). No one "needs" an assault knife!

Of course the third thing, more extensive vetting of immigrants into the U.S., especially from countries with substantial "radical muslim" populations, would not be appropriate by their standards, as that would constitute "racism" and "islamophobia". How deplorable!

[10:40 AM: Ohio State University attacker ID'd as 18-year-old Abdul Razak Ali Artan, law enforcement officials tell NBC News. Assault vehicle (aka "car") registered to 20-year-old Ali Mohammed.]

I'm writing (and calling  ;)) my legislators right now! Hawaii must lead the way on these commonsense vehicle-violence and knife-violence safety measures!

You couldn't make this stuff up (and have anyone believe it)!

http://dailycaller.com/2016/11/28/ohio-state-attacker-identified-everything-we-know-about-abdul-razak-ali-artan/

From an interview with the attacker, Abdul Razak Ali Artan (emigrated from Pakistan in 2014), in the Ohio State University student newspaper, The Lantern, on August 16, 2016 (https://issuu.com/thelantern/docs/082516, page 5):

“I wanted to pray in the open, but I was kind of scared with everything going on in the media,” he stated. “I’m a Muslim, it’s not what the media portrays me to be.”

“I don’t blame them,” he continued. “It’s the media that put that picture in their heads so they’re just going to have it, and it’s going to make them feel uncomfortable.”

Artan’s motive is not yet known, yet authorities maintain that the attack was “done on purpose” and are treating the incident as a possible terrorist act.

What a liar.
I'm guessing those people felt REALLY uncomfortable as he drove the car into them and then started stabbing them with the butcher knife.

Here's another quote from the school newspaper interview: "I relied on God. I went over to the corner and just prayed."

So now we know where he was getting his orders.

Or am I just an illiterate islamophobe?

Here's how we are so disillusioned by the media.
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/11/28/somali-student-behind-car-knife-attack-at-ohio-state-university-that-injured-11.html

“I didn’t see anything with the shooter, what happened was it was outside of MacQuigg Lab,” Kovacich told The Lantern. “The guy ended up just coming and hopping the curb with his car and trying to mow down a couple people. He lost control, and I think he ended up hitting three people, and then people were around the car. Somebody asked him if he was OK and the guy just hopped out of the car with a butcher knife and starting chasing people around.”

He wasn't a shooter...

Quibble, quibble, quibble. Shooter, stabber, attempted vehicular manslaughterer... it's just parsing words. Besides, if he had had a gun, which he could have gotten by a private party sale without undergoing a universal background check in Ohio, or he could have passed the FFL background check like most of the other mass public murderers, he could have inflicted much more damage, and those poor unarmed defenseless students on campus would have suffered much greater injury or death. Therefore, even though this attempted murderer didn't use any guns, guns are still the problem and need to be much more severely restricted or outrightly banned.

Speaking of campus carry, check out this video by NRA's Ginny Simone interviewing three female students who just happened to be (see: George Carlin) white, black and hispanic:

Figures. Muslim killed by white guy. Especially after the muslim guy (possibly) wrote [unconfirmed at this time that this was the attempted murder's online posting]: "I am sick and tired of seeing my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters being killed and tortured EVERYWHERE. ... I can't take it anymore. America! Stop interfering with other countries ... [if] you want us Muslims to stop carrying lone wolf attacks."

Officials confirm that Officer Alan Horujko fatally shot OSU attack suspect Abdul Razak Ali Artan.

I liked this comment posted on the news site with the officer's photo:

"BRAVO Officer Alan Horujko!!! A GOOD GUY WITH A GUN BEATS A MUSLIM WITH A KNIFE EVERY TIME!"

All kinds idiots early in the reports were jumping on this and screaming "gun control!" ... yeah a good guy controlled that gun, and a piece of shit is now growing grass! AMEN  and the so called 'news' calling it a "active shooter", yep keep milking tragedy to push a useless dangerous agenda! LYING MEDIA WE HAD ENOUGH!

I think there should be a car-free zone.
That would eliminate any concerns of parking around campus.

The news headlines initially called it an active shooter event then they later corrected it to the car and knife attack.  Media and anti-gun organizations must have been disappointed by the change.  I have a feeling they will come back and say that people would have died if the attacked was armed with a gun, which is probably true.

I'm glad that no one was killed.  Getting wounded by a knife can sometimes be worse than getting shot.  I bet the innocents involved felt helpless and can now see why people want to carry guns for protection.

This was so funny I was thinking of putting it in the joke section.
It is from the nra ila newsletter.
Take a minute to read it.
