« on: November 29, 2016, 09:30:10 PM »
Any unwritten ettiquete for the rifle range to follow?

Like how when bowling, the right lane goes first.

During a cease fire
DO NOT CROSS THE YELLOW LINE

No matter how many times the ROs say this throughout the day there is ALWAYS a person or two that don't listen and mess with their rifles on the bench etc.

During the Cease fire :

DO NOT CROSS THE YELLOW LINE    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT GO NEAR YOUR TABLE   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT HANDLE ANY FIREARMS   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For ANY reason ; even if the wind blew your rifle to the floor , putting your ear muff on the table or getting your cell phone from the table.

Did I say for ANY reason?

If all the benches are occupied ask a RO if there is a waiting list.

If you have a muzzle brake and there are empty tables around, try and stay away from other shooters.

Ask people if you can have their brass before picking it up.

Shoot only at your target and check your shooting angle.

Try to avoid getting other people in your pictures you post.

If there is a waiting list for lanes and you have a table...spend your time shooting and not just hanging around.

Also don't move the tables

Stay forward close to the edge of the pavement when shooting off the bench.

Don't be afraid to ask for help.  Ask an experienced shooter to go with you or ask the person next to you to help guide you.

I also help new shooters through the meet up group.

Don't be offended if the RSO's yell at you, that is their default setting you or someone else would not be able to hear them if they didn't yell, it's not personal. I have seen them scold a guy one relay for something and then the next relay two of them are helping him sight in his scope. They are weary at first until they see that you are being safe, people try to accidentally kill them a few times a day on average.

I didn't know that either and I used to bowl often when I was younger.  I thought it was just don't go when the lane immediately either side of you is up.

Anyways,  :stopjack:  I didn't even realize some people did some of the "unwritten" things mentioned here, like moving the benches.  I guess I can see people doing it, but never thought to do it nor have seen people do it.

I have a brass net when I shoot my AR, but I've seen many that don't.  I don't really care either way, but I've seen some fudds get super pissed at any brass coming their way.  Even if I didn't have a brass net, I'd be at least conscious of where my brass is going, but there are many that don't.  While not mandatory, my advise is just be courteous to others.  Seems common sense, but there are lots out there that don't seem to have common sense.
