Wife is 100% on board
« on: December 27, 2016, 08:13:15 AM »
So I've been new to the firearm community for about 3 months now.  My wife has always been ok with buying stuff, but more like "what the hell is he going to use it for?" in the back of her mind.

Well at 3am this morning, my neighbor was robbed at gun point.  About 20 feet from our front door (apartment).  So  now she is 100% on board and knows why we need protection.

And we just bought a shotty that day also.  She spent about 3 hours looking at accessories to trick it out.

Scary stuff! Glad you two are ok. And even more glad you're protected!  Be sure to keep up with the training.  :shaka:

I'd wager that the probability of the armed robber being 1. a legal, permitted firearm owner, and 2. the firearm he used was legally registered to him, at about 0% (zero).

I'd wager there is a very high probability that 1. he has been arrested previously, 2. he has been convicted previously, 3. he has served time previously, 4. he has committed many other crimes previously, and 5. he is a "prohibited person".

Thus proving once again, to the progtards, that Hawaii needs more laws encumbering (eliminating?) the lawful keeping and bearing of arms by Hawaii's law-abiding citizens.

It also happened in a "common area" which we are not allowed to carry because it isnt a residence. Unless u have a ccw.

Actually unless your lease or contract prohibits it you are. You can carry on any private property you have consent to be on.

Hawaiis place to keep and carry laws are unconstitutional and wouldent stand up to any level of scrutiny.

Sheesh.

Hawaii anti-carry laws = safe working environment for criminals.
I think, therefore I am armed.

It maybe, but I don't have the time or money to fight a court battle.  In the mean time, my firearms are confiscated.

I would hesitate to be the test case for that one, but one could always say they were on their way to the car.

I can open or conceal carry per 134-23
"Except as provided in section 134-5, all firearms shall be confined to the possessor’s place of business, residence, or sojourn;"
HRS 134-5 refers to hunting.
It will cost a lot of money and guns to fight our few crooked cops, when they bust you at a place of "business, residence, or sojourn".
The guys here will arrest you, take your guns( never give them back), just to run you through the system
and prove a point, even though you won't be prosecuted.  Yes the laws here are un-constitutional,  but some of our cops are not ethical
and they know you will be dead or moved on long before you win in court, because it takes years and years to get through the courts.
As long  they get to go home and get their retirements they could care less about your rights and indeed your life.
Plus they will enjoy the Les Baer 1911 45 they confiscated as evidence.

More and more my wife is seeing this. Just this week back in GA a guy was followed home and carjacked in his driveway at gunpoint.  To include getting on his knees and begging for his life with a gun pressed against his head.  They stole his 2015 Mustang.

That could have been me.

Prosecutor will ask, how come it wasn't in an enclosed case?  Why was it on oneself.
